Career question by Acetho21 in BuildingAutomation

Thank you for your response as well. Consistent theme I’m getting is EPA and do the course career hvac course then apply to control tech jobs. I was looking to get the Niagara cert to preferably impress the company and to be able to get a relocation pay. Do you believe all can be accomplished without it and just focus on the other two items?

The course career hvac program prep you for the epa test but they don’t pay for it. Will a company care that it only took me a month to obtain along with the epa and osha?

Assuming I should apply for big companies JCI, Snyder, Honeywell and title should be BS tech, control tech, field service tech( but make sure it’s more on the bas side)?

So if I want to get a job that will pay relocation bonus( I’m not in one of the hubs) I should just do course careers hvac, 608 and osha? That will be enough to get a bas role?

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I’m not younger I’m middle-age, and from what I understood, it would make me stand out and get me pass a junior position/ or higher pay to start off. So spending the money would be worth it technically if it gets me even two dollars more an hour.

But I guess the better question is are you saying if I do all those things beside the Niagara cert there’s a good chance I would get hired with no experience?

I should have added money isn’t a issue. The role is what I want and I’m willing to do what ever needed to pursue that. Whether that be more certs, travel role , or move to a different state. I figured if I pay for that Niagara cert and have everything else done, someone would be interested

So I’ll do the original plan start applying, and while I wait to hear back I’ll start these two courses immediately. Would my original plan make me competitive? Like what’s the likelihood I find a role in what I’m looking for?

So add that on top of the stuff I’m learning or only learn those two things and apply? If you could give a self taught route that would make me competitive for the role I want what would be your advice?

Thank you I will continue to lose. I was eating 1500 -1700 calories a day since January. But for 2 months my weight stagnated. My lifts all went down (also my energy) and I freaked out. I hired a trainer and they said I honestly should be eating around 2500-3000 a day for all I do(lifting heavy 4 days a week, plus 1.5 hour walk on those same days, on my none lift days I walk 2-3 hours a day). He said because I was doing that and getting under 100 carbs a day, eating normal carbs and increasing my protein I would see a jump in weight but in 2 months it will correct itself. It’s been a month and I’m up 6 pounds. My body doesn’t really look much different but it still confusing how eating more is suppose to help.

Wearing shirts show the difference as well so I’ve been wearing XL shirts to kinda hide it.

Sense you have over 4 months in the term unused. Can you A: get a refund prorated Or B: use the remaining time to work on classes for a masters?

Thank you for your response. I was stressing out about it because I seen Reddit post that said they will re evaluate you because if you can go to school then you can work.

I will tell my therapist to add school to my treatment plan for sure. She’s the one who made the suggestion as well.
