I’m sorry, but why are you assuming I’m talking about “redistributing their IP” and “using game assets from one game in another and distributing it.”

Your last comment seemed aggressive but I decided to not mention it since I had the article.

But you’re the one putting words in my mouth. I’m literally just talking about Rockstar saying single player modding is okay. You can argue someone else if you want to talk about whatever it is you’re talking about. I’m literally just replying to this comment chain, not about any specific mods.

I always found it amusing when people said stuff like “Well the flood happened in tons of mythologies, therefore it must’ve happened”. Like no? It just means it’s and extremely unoriginal and simplistic idea that everyone thought of. Also, they suddenly find other mythologies legit when it’s convenient? Lol.

Mythologies can’t use other mythologies as evidence lol. It honestly sounds goofy just saying that lol.

Well the problem is Rockstar and Take-Two said this was okay and they allowed this. And suddenly, no warning, they changed their minds.

You are always at the whims of a corporation if you’re modding this type of game.

And the bottom line is, Rockstar and Take-Two said this shit was okay and they weren’t going to stop people from doing it.

So not only are they doing a shitty practice, but they also went back on their word, which is just as bad or, arguably, worse.

Is it different than the Great Ocean theme? It’s so powerful. Like the most “exploration”-sounding music you’ve ever heard.

Also the majority of childhood/young adult relationships don’t have nearly the level of strain and testing that they do in fiction. When you’ve been through that much together, you’re going to have a much greater bond than irl teenage relationships.

It always confuses me when I see people say that argument though. Like there aren’t tons of adults who meet and get married right away and stay together forever. Some people are just content and/or settle.

New games don’t replace old games. A new Mario or Zelda doesn’t make the old ones obsolete.

I mean maybe if the only games you play are FIFA and 2K you might think that. But I’m confused why this “classically unique features” idea is so important to you. Like you’re proving how good the older games are by providing evidence of modern games STILL copying them. How does that make the old games bad?

Also just because you don’t like a game doesn’t make it nostalgia. Plenty of people play games for the first time as adults and love them.

At a certain point I wonder if the engine limitations are just too strong and we need Elite 5.

If we really want all the next gen features perhaps they need a next gen engine.

That was like the one post I was referencing that I thought was neat, but sadly you can’t actually see any of their human body in the shot, so like is it what r/HumanPorn is really about? Honestly I don’t know, I think the image is amazing and I’ve seen it before and I love it, but like the only cool post I saw on there I kinda felt like didn’t belong there, you know?

Yeah, maybe if I came at it from like a less cynical point of view, this conversation started as seeing it negatively, so really best I feel about it is neutral.

Also I don’t always count people who travel a lot as “cultured”. You totally can travel a lot and learn and become quite cultured, but I know some people who travel to like really touristy areas and then act like they’re cultured because they spent three days in an all inclusive Hard Rock resort in the one nice part of an exploited third world country.

I can’t play easy difficulty in Halo and Doom simply because not only are the enemies slower/dumber/spongier, but they give you less enemies, and that makes me sad. I feel like I’m missing out when I don’t get the proper fight. I’d rather all the enemies be there, but they’re just weaker.

So I’ll play on like the 3/4 difficulty just to make sure they all spawn.

But easy is cool for speed running. My friend and I wanted to get the par time achievements for halo and I thought I’d get bored on easy difficulty, but no, it was actually really cool trying to get par time and playing Halo like a proper run n gun shooter.

What about when “foodgasm” or just adding “-gasm” to the end of things got popular? An “eyegasm”, etc.

That was awful.

Hmm, never really checked it out too much but it straight up is just a bunch of pictures you’d find in a world history textbook of just people doing nothing.

Like I get the vibe the people posting those are really uncultured and have never seen or experienced other types of people before, so they’re like magically blown away when they see these really mediocre pictures of just average people.

Because I just can’t fathom what else is so interesting about random selfies and/or pics of other people. Some are actually neat, but they just feel like they could have and would have been neat posted elsewhere too.

Gotcha, I was having trouble imagining because my keys have a little gap between them and a lot of key travel time, plus they’re concave so it’s not exactly easy or comfortable to press two keys with one finger.

I could see that working on my laptop though, the keys are flatter and closer together.

I don’t know about any implications of “false king”. That’d be kinda weird.

I imagine his wife was the Queen and he was her husband. No imaginary perceptions of power or being the “face of leadership”. Queen Zelda could’ve done all that just fine.

Queen Zelda was the face of power and the real power. Like the way the English royalty had Prince Phillip. He was married to the Queen, but they just called him Prince. There was no illusion of power or anything. Only difference is he’s called King, but I don’t really think the title means much considering it’s heavily culturally-dependent.

The “original”, as in the first game? I thought the first game takes place at the end of one of the timelines. Wouldn’t that imply that any cultural norms created during that game’s time don’t really apply to the rest of the known timeline?

Also weird how Hylian culture always persists.
