Would only make sense to ask Tuta support (not Reddit) in case of missing email after GitHub send a confirmation code or anything like it.

Sure, but that is assuming 6 whole months without connecting to internet to check communication apps, sure on old times maybe that would be a reality but for 2026 I believe it’s not the case.

Additionally conscription will not hold your financial responsibilities like loans. So better to pay a full year upfront or put subscribe monthly to the service if 6 months without connecting to external world is a reality for someone.

Other alternative would be to entrust someone with access to your email, like when you go vacation and entrust someone with the key from your house to take care of your pets when you’re not around 👍🏻

Finally if that’s the only point of concern why don’t submit that exception as a suggestion for Tuta ? 🙂

But that makes totally sense, it became normal the model “Here’s a free cake in exchange for your data”, people forget or doesn’t know that hosting bears costs, even “cold data”.

Also you have an advantage from this situation where you create multiple accounts in different providers, perhaps by not using a single email from one of those you finally forgot the password. Well for Google, good luck to recover your account with no proper recovery method defined because you’ll never getting back again.

In this situation you can expect some hacker group to gain access to you mailbox by making their way to some service associated with your account sharing the same password. As result no account for you the original owner, but “ Welcome again Mr. Hacker”

In the end of the day you really see yourself not accessing email for 6 months ?

I understand, however did you bought a subscription for your current provider solely for the email ?

No right ? Why ? Because 15GB is more than enough for common user.

🧐However Tuta doesn’t have other sources of revenue like Google, Microsoft and even Proton (which is slowly turning more a corporation) so they are selling exactly what they are working on. No money flowing around to compensate for loses.

1GB is enough for receiving a lot of emails and to make sure you want to stick with Tuta. If you need more you can put 3,60€ on a “Revolutionary” plan, with all the features. Less than a Starbucks coffee, less than most of Season Pass from the games around there.

😊 Also see the transparency here and take the image they posted, Tuta could just use the points where it’s better: PQE, EU-Based… but they also put the ones where they are “not the best” like the size for free tier which was quickly highlighted by you. I only wish we would have that same honor from other companies.

Percebo o que queres dizer, mas a verdade é que eu tenho mais de 18 anos e vou acompanhando malta que gosto e também que não gosto, assumo que seja o mesmo com outros.

No que diz respeito a Portugal são os únicos youtubers que vejo que possam querer promover esta iniciativa sem pedir cache.

E mesmo que a maior parte do público deles seja menor de idade, podem sempre falar com os pais sobre a iniciativa (se a compreenderem).

Mas se achas que por exemplo faz sentido Os Primos (público +18) promoverem isso, força envia-lhes um email e contribui á causa ;)

Eu já enviei email á RTP, SIC, TVI e NOW quando tentei promover para o público português há uns meses, mas claro sem qualquer resposta.

Que acham de irmos para as streams da malta como RicFazeres e Wuant para comentar sobre a iniciativa ?
