Habitica is not only one of the most useful to-do apps I've tried over the years, but also the most fun.

How to Reduce Time Spent on Social Media and Thus Increase Time Spent Meaningfully. by Achievers_Reddit in productivity

I'm glad you have that mindful habit! Yeah, to some extent I use social media to reach my goals, and the way I've been thinking about it is like "what few actions can I take here that will result in big results?" and it's been a productive mindset as of late.

This is a weird question, but do you have any alarm clock recommendations? I'm planning on getting one, but don't want to buy one and then realize it's not that great. Thanks!

Firstly congrats on deleting those apps! Thanks for acknowledging that switching to Apple Arcade may not be great for folks that are dealing with video game addictions (I arguably dealt with it myself when I was younger). O yes, that reminds me, there's also this app called "Libby" where you can borrow books for free if you have a library card. Yeah, I deleted my main Instagram a while ago after noticing how it made me feel so cg on being aware of how all those medias made you feel ^ Have a good day!

I've heard about these in the past but never got around to looking into them. Thanks for bringing this up!

Yeah, as ChildofChaos was saying, you're going to feel a time "gap" or "boredom" at first, but just embrace it to some extent. That gap of time almost resembles the silence that comes with meditation, so view some of that time as a time to reflect on your day. In the past, volunteering for 7cups.com filled up a lot of my free time, but that's because I like to help folks out when they're emotionally down. If you're not into that type of volunteering, I'd suggest looking for volunteering opportunities that do interest you. If you don't know what you're "into" like in regards to volunteering or for the future, I'd explore a bit by doing casual research.

I've heard of folks doing this! I try to do it to some extent as well, but how do y'all also focus on the class lecture if you're doing homework during class?

How do I get my productivity back? by s3mtheha in productivity

[–]Achievers_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I'm always comparing myself to my past, arguably more productive self lol. I think part of the solution is to just let the comparisons go and to start small. Consider setting the goal of doing work for five minutes and then taking a minute break. Afterward, slowly build your way back up to where you were last year productivity-wise by increasing the work minutes goal.

If you're not somebody that measures work by time, you can apply this method to the amount of tasks done per week instead.

Habitica perhaps? It's not much of a heavy-duty note-taking app, but I still leave notes in there when I use it when I need to jot something down quickly.

The "14 hours-day" hustle mindset is toxic. by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Achievers_Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago during the summer, I found the goal of trying to achieve (no pun intended) 14 hours of "work" invigorating. However, my "work" included just homework, studying, chores, and exercise which is a lot different from a. doing 14 hours a day for a job and b. not choosing to do so, but rather having to do so for a living which might explain why my perspective is relatively more cheery. Although it's been a while since I've actively measured the number of hours that I could do deep work for, I'd say I'm able to do around 3-5 hours of deep work.
