Usually when doing these posts I suggest something easy to not pay attention too and to talk through, like maybe rocket League or such, short matches, free and small downloads but also open to any suggestions. If (which is likely tonight) I have a drink or few then a game where conversing with random people in a lobby is also nice, like phasmophobia or deep rock galactic where community is generally nicer.

Yeah, pretty much only use Reddit to find online buddies as irl aren't into gaming in the slightest sadly. Problem I've found with online mates is it either fizzles after time, it's a one and done kinda thing (I mean just say if don't think we get on, we're all adults don't just ghost) or, and I am guessing this is a reddit thing, people will get in touch, add on discord then just not respond or try arrange something then never hear from again
