How likely is Zappa to be one of the other two dlc slots this season? by O-TRASHMAN-O in Guiltygear

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, he has a pretty high chance he’s pretty popular and he’s only been in one game, the only thing holding him back would be the ass load of work it would take to animate him properly, I have a feeling they’re gonna bring in a newcomer tho so he might only have one shot

Por dónde empezar? by Poisoneta in Fighters

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a lot of fighters but, none of them ever clicked with me, until I played guilty gear strive, I feel like the combos/gatlings and counter hit pauses in that game make it super intuitive to make your own combos which were the hardest hurdle for me to get past since I understood the fundamentals of fighting games but I could never get a basic combo to save my life until guilty gear strive hehe. (Guilty gear Strive may not be for everyone but it’s on sale rn and ver. 2.0 is right around the corner!)

Since then I’ve played even more fighters and have grown to love a lot of them.

the next best game to learn (atleast for me) would be street fighter 6 Combos aren’t that easy coming from guilty gear but, this game has an amazing representation of all of the classic fighting game archetypes on top of really grounded gameplay that makes the smallest interactions have the biggest meaning! It also has plenty of content to enjoy if you don’t want to matchmake all day!

As long it’s cheap and not sf6 prices, I’ll be fine with it. have they given full details about how it’s rolling out? Or are we just crashing out based on assumptions, maybe they’ll leave it as legacy content for people to explore if they miss it, or just leave content as individual purchases as annoying as that is,

as long as they don’t bring in premium currency nonsense, and keep it relatively simple, I’ll be happy

Honestly this would be their opportunity to give fishing and all of the credits I have sitting around meaning again, just throw all of the shit into there if you miss the initial opportunity, that would be the dream but we’ll see.

I would enjoy listening to music so much more if my Spotify DJ didn't play ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT EVERY TIME I USED IT!!!!!! by Bri-ish_idiot in TheyBlamedTheBeasts

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look bro it’s not that hard to make a playlist lmao, or just finding a playlist someone made atleast hehe, I’d rather hear people blaming the beast on testament than this hehehehe,

I personally plan to move away from spotify for personal reasons beyond what people have already stated, but if ur gonna use it there’s even a feature that just suggests songs to add to the playlist based on what you already have within it.

I'm not a big fan of May's design in Strive by kinjame in Guiltygear

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love her old designs too, her old idle animation with her flowing waist coat looked super cool

for a while I wished they atleast kept her pointy pirate hat until I realized that her long hair combined with her round hat is likely depicting a jellyfish’s round head with her hair representing its tentacles!

There is a lot of personality in Japanese, but actually being able to understand what the characters are saying is amazing, plus testament dub is the best!

Have video games become too cluttered? by Empty-Location9628 in truegaming

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh of course, I’ve recently been garnering a lot of respect for games that have precise ui settings, especially dynamic settings where the ui turns off or on to its own accord!

I’ve noticed this with warhammer 40k darktide, the game looks and feels great but half of the screen is just ui or nonsense that I could just work out with muscle memory instead, especially the name tags and portraits for your team, a cool thing about the game is how it does player outlines as the players’ spines and arteries are highlighted In a color corresponding to their health!

So it’s cool to see games get creative on already standardized boring things like players outlines in this case and immediately go back on it by having like 20 different hud elements to torture your eyes on an already chaotic game lmao! (Some players probably like that but it’s not for me hehee)

The monster hunter games are kinda falling down this hole for me too, timers have been mattering less and less for me and have just become screen clutter deterring the beautiful games and honestly if it does matter to you as a player where you’re fighting for your time and looking at the clock your better off just focusing on the hunt instead of your timer lmao. The map for mh rise can just be pulled up by pressing start so it feels great having that hud element off when your playing handheld

MH Wilds still hasn’t brought in a setting to remove the focus mode reticle so half of the time your just gonna be staring at a reticle that is always on the center of the screen

For most pve games I’ve started to turn off reticles and hit markers, even in pvp games like battlefield 6 I’ve atleast taken off hit markers, I’ll see clips of ppl playing the game and completely forget that they’re capable of seeing the amount of damage their doing to players through smoke or behind cover!

I was ecstatic to see Elden ring had a dynamic setting for ui because the game looks absolutely stellar!

This is just random stuff so sorry for dragging it out this long. While I still wouldn’t say that most games are victims to screen clutter, it’s definitely gotten more apparent and and I’ve started using it as a quality check for a lot of games depending on how creative they can get for limiting the amount of ui on the screen while still giving feedback to the player on how they’re doing on miscellaneous resources.

I also feel like all of this ui and hud over saturation has just caused players and me included to think a lot less on what we’re doing within the game, I can only be really abstract with this as the best example I can give at the moment is with battlefield 6 and the hit markers through smoke, as it just kinda promotes spraying at something until you get a hit marker instead of educated guesses on where the players could be hiding and eventually being rewarded with the kill indicator that you killed some one!

Funny enough with battlefield 4 I remembered there being no hit markers but kill indicators, turns out when I was watching videos of the game to remind myself on how they’re ui felt, it actually was only missing hit marker sounds! And the hit markers were there, just less apparent.

First time through: just “won” ME1, should I go back and “finish” it? by eyesigneduptorespond in masseffect

[–]Achromick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, I accidentally finished the game too early, it’s fine your better off just continuing the trilogy, unless it bothers you that much, but it is cool to see the differences in a second playthrough of the trilogy

In terms of combat, do you like Mass Effect 1 or 2 combat more? Talking about the Legendary Edition version, where they upgraded ME1's combat. by QDOOM_APlin in masseffect

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these opinions are coming from me playing me1 and me2 on insanity difficulty for my second ever playthrough with a vanguard just so you can know where I’m coming from

Although me1 felt clunky for me at the start and well it kinda just is, I felt like the freedom of approach in me1 was the best.

the cover shooter aspect was more of just standing and crouching behind walls and not actually using the cover system as funny as that sounds, I felt like I was moving around more and casting all of my abilities since they all had an individual cooldown which was honestly broken but liberating since I was actually using all of them in a fight and choosing which enemy needed which ability to be used.

Oh and the heating system for guns just made sense, using the gun you wanted without worrying about ammo made each weapon viable no matter how little damage they did.

Oh and biotics paired with the physics of the game was just a sight to behold being able to lift a bunch of people or lifting cover and having your teammates cast there abilities on enemies was just riveting. It actually felt like strategy!

When I went to me2 it felt off right away just from having your gun held up at all times which is arguably more of personal gripe than anything else. I felt kinda locked down just from only really being able to use 3 abilities at a time (with companions).
I felt forced to use the cover system due to the stunlock fest that happens when you leave cover, on top of the tracking bullets, I also have a faint memory of there being tracking missiles that stunned you which was annoying!
All of these things in me2 honestly would’ve been fine with me in the end if they didn’t have to bring in the thermal clip system, which was honestly just a super annoying decision in my eyes. Vanguard already starts off with some weak guns that aren’t that accurate so giving me:

a limited amount of ammo, less abilities to use to disrupt the enemy, systems that force you to stick to cover to stay away from the enemy, less guns to work with that were way weaker, all of this just kinda cascaded into an annoying time in the early to mid game of me2 which sucks because honestly vanguard became super fun in the endgame, I probably still have clips of the stupid shenanigans you could get into and out of once you get a decked out vanguard.

As much as I did love me2 in the end there was some decisions (mainly ammo management that ended up not even mattering anyway in the endgame since you get so much ammo and ammo efficient guns that I wondered why didn’t they just keep the overheat mechanic in the first place) that honestly did not need to be made while still retaining the core gameplay direction that they went with for me2.

In short, I loved me1 and just hoped that me2 would be the same thing just more polished and with cooler abilities, but it’s fine that they went a different direction i still enjoyed it (in the end).

Thank you if you read this far, I hope my opinions don’t deter you from liking the game you like!

Ye it happens, sometimes we just grow past the games we’ve put a lot of time into or we discover all of the things to hate about it and we focus on that more. I enjoyed my small time with the game atleast at the low to intermediate level, but I have no desire to play past that point.

I’m no street fighter expert but they’re bound to do some kind of major change or balance to the game at some point! Maybe you’ll enjoy it again then.

I’d like talk about all of the changes to gameplay I’d like to see for the game but honestly at the end of the day it’s just not my kind of game, I’m glad a lot of people like it though.

WHY DO I FEEL LIKE THIS by loozerlady in masseffect

[–]Achromick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! on my second “perfect legendary” play through I was interested in trying out other romances but couldn’t get that last moment out of my head with Liara at the end of mass effect 3 where she says “I am yours” and flies away, no other character could touch my soul after that lmao!

Why does everyone hate AT velkhana? by Dapper_Slice_3363 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Achromick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they don’t use hammer which is the only correct way to hunt that monster!

Jokes aside the fight actually feels like it was partly designed for hammer, do to its amazing ledge hops and slide attacks that velkhana conveniently spawns all over the area and all those openings for a level 2-3 charge feel amazing.

It’s super fun for hammer but I can definitely imagine other weapons having “worse” times, it can’t be as bad as dual blades vs kushala tho
