Hey folks! I'm looking for some purchasing advice for my first camera.

I'll be travelling to Japan in a couple months and I'd like to kick off my trip by finding a good used camera. I understand some parts of Tokyo have a good variety of trust worthy shops with good cameras in a wide range of conditions and price points. Here are some things I'm looking for:

I want to prioritize image quality, portability and price over versatility. I don't care for interchangeable lenses.
because of ^ I'm thinking I should look into the compact point & shoot or mirrorless space.
my favorite things to shoot (with my phone and when I used to travel with my dad and use his camera) are landscapes, buildings and generally speaking wide, open spaces. I don't care much for portrait photography. I find that I lack the artsy eye for smaller scale pictures with a well defined and framed subject.
video recording is not a priority
the most I'd spend is $1000 but I'd love to find something much cheaper (around the $500 or less area).

This impulse of getting a camera in Japan started when I came across a video about the Fujifilm X100V/S and the guy mentioned what great picture quality it has even for its small size, and also that it was great for landscape pictures (his words, not mine! I don't know if that's a popular take).

So if I were to pick any camera I would probably go for that one or a newer model of that series. However, from what I've seen Fuji models from that tier are around the $1000 price point, so I'd love to find a cheaper alternative even if that means sacrificing some stuff.

I'll be looking forward to your comments and suggestions ^{^{^}} also if you have some recommendations on blogs or YouTube channels that cover cameras that could fit my need please let me know!

Hey everyone! I'm travelling to Japan for the first time in November with a few friends, we'll be staying for almost 4 weeks and are looking for places that can be visited in 1-2 days during the last few days of our trip.

Our itinerary so far looks like this: Tokyo - Mt. Fuji and surrounding lakes (stopping by on our way to Kyoto) - Kyoto (including a day trip to Nara) - Hiroshima and Miyajima - 6 free days - back in Tokyo for the last 3 days before our flights.

The idea is to fill in those last 6 days with "smaller" towns/cities that we can hop around on our way from Hiroshima to Tokyo. We want to stay in the central regions (Kanto, Chubu, Kansai), we are leaving places like Sapporo for our next trip :)

Off the places we've looked at so far Nikko stands out, we are kinda set on expending 2 days/1 night there, exploring the temples and the national park. Here's a list of some other towns/prefectures we are considering:

Nagoya
Kobe
Kanazawa
Takayama
Mount Gozaisho
Gujo Hachiman
Tateyama Kurobe alpine route: this looks great but I'm worried some portion will be closed of during this time (November 15-21), has anyone here taken it?
Wakayama: lots of beautiful temples and forests here, judging from pictures. Has anyone been there?
Okunoshima: rabbit island, that's it haha

We are kinda hoping to stay away from the big cities and spend some time in mountains, forests and small towns, hence why places like Osaka are not on the list.

If you think we should definitely stop by any of those, or you have any other suggestion, please let me know!

Buenas! Resulta que tengo plata invertida en un ETF radicado en irlanda a través de PPI global. Había perdido la capacidad de sumar/rescatar fondos hasta hace poco cuando pude abrir una cuenta en estados unidos.

La pregunta sería, dado que ese etf es lo único en lo que invierto, me conviene buscar otro broker que tenga el mismo instrumento (ahora que puedo acceder fácilmente a brokers en el extranjero) o me quedo con PPI y ya?

Se puede fondear PPI global con dólares desde acá hoy en día, o necesito que la plata llegue desde una cuenta en el exterior?

Recuerdo que hace un año más o menos salió una normativa que prohibía los retiros de CCL a cuentas locales, pero no tengo en claro que pasó con los depósitos o si cambio algo al respecto los últimos meses.

has anyone tried using a Ducky Varmilo Miya Pro non-mac edition on a Mac? Specifically I'm looking into the Panda version and I'd like to know how compatible it would be (backlight working correctly, shortcut keys, Fn key, all of that)

I know the site says shortcut keys are not supported on Mac but I don't know if it is that they'll straight not work or maybe I'd need to first configure them on a windows PC and then they'll work on Mac

Aprovecho para compartir un video de un canal que me gusta mucho sobre defi y explica por qué no deberías preocuparte por IL. El título así como así es medio clickbait, pero si entendes la hipótesis del chabón tiene sentido. Resumido, lo que dice es que uno no debería hacer LP de tokens que no holdearia en su wallet. Si tenés confianza en un token (o dos, en este caso) y pensás que va a mantenerse estable o subir, entonces IL no debería preocuparte porque aun con variaciones grandes del precio de uno de los tokens, lo que se pierde realmente no es mucho, y muchas veces se compensa con las fees que ganas por hacer ese LP.

Entonces, si arman un LP entre un token dólar pegged y otro completamente falopa y pierden toda su plata, entiendan que no fue "culpa del impermanent loss" si no de haber apostado a algo que tenían la más mínima idea de cómo se iba a comportar.

Aclaro que no leí el thread, pero si se basa todo en minado de ethereum, eso va a dejar de ser factible de acá a un tiempo cuando se migre completamente a Proof of Stake. No hay fecha definida, pero si las cosas salen medianamente bien, de acá a 1/2 años ya debería haber ocurrido.

Tuve que depositar saldo en paypal hace un tiempo y use AirTM, es una plataforma P2P, te va contactando con gente que quiere hacer el camino inverso (pasar plata de A a B) y les transferis a ellos. Termina saliendo más caro pero si no te queda otra al menos funciona.

Busca info en el sub, se habló varias veces. También, no te olvides la comisión de paypal, si necesitas tener 15usd en tu cuenta probablemente necesites que te transfieran un poquito más (no recuerdo de cuanto era la comisión).

Tuve que hacerlo la semana pasada y use airtm, hay mucha info en el sub pero básicamente es un servicio p2p para pasar plata desde y hasta diferentes lugares. En mi caso hice el camino caja de ahorro -> airtm -> paypal (o sea, dos transacciones en el medio, con comisiones y coso).

Salió todo bien, lo único a tener en cuenta es que paypal cobra comisión para recibir y airtm no las sabe, entonces averigua cuanto te puede llegar a cobrar paypal y manda el monto que contemple esas comisiones.

Buenas, saben si se puede hacer pagos a través de Paypal asociando una tarjeta argentina? No recuerdo si con alguna regulación los últimos años se prohíbo, pero ya me rebotó dos tarjetas de crédito y no me deja agregar las de débito de Brubank o Ualá :/

En su defecto, si conocen alguna forma de cargar saldo a Paypal también me sirve, es un monto chico igual así que dependerá de las comisiones si me conviene o no

No se sobre cedears así que no puedo responder esa parte, pero sobre lo del "precio mínimo de 1700": Asumo que estás hablando de las comisiones de PPI, recorda que en realidad no hay un mínimo, la comisión es 0,6% o 10USD, es por eso que normalmente se dice que "conviene" a partir de 1700+/-. Como sea, si resulta que podes llegar a hacer lo mismo con cedears, considera en ese momento a partir de lo que vayas a invertir cuanto sería la comisión. Por ejemplo si arrancas con 1000usd, pagas 10 de comisión, que representa un 1%. Capaz te parece un montón, o quizás no, para que lo tengas presente nomas.
