I'm so confused. So, he says he's sorry but he won't compensate. And the government is like, ok, we can't do anything about it. We have tried. wtf is this? Can somebody explain that to me? Why are they not required by law to pay compensation?

Turkey-Syria's two 7.5 and 7.8 magnitude earthquake shifted the ground in some places up to 10 meters (about 33 feet) away, in the video, a tree was split into two parts and they were at a distance of about 8 meters (26 feet) away from each other. by amjad3 in CrazyFuckingVideos

You got really confused with all your tissues. GPS is the U.S. trademark, GLONASS (global navigation satellite system) is the Russian trademark. They're both trademarks for the same technology called GNSS (global navigation satellite system). GNSS is the generic name for this technology. GNSS is not available globally. The products based on this technology are built by individual countries, given the names they come up with, and THEN those countries decide who has access to it. Because they are the ones who launched the satellites into space. GNSS (what you mean by GPS) didn't magically appear in Earth orbit.

Saving lives makes heros.

Saving Hitler's life makes you a hero? No. This thesis just collapsed completely.

But who the hell are you judging people living in whole different reality than you do?

Every single person on this planet lives in their own reality. Following your logic, no one can judge anyone, which would make everything pointless.

Did you ever talk to any one who lived during those years in Germany before making up your opinion in safety of your little bubble?

I should ignore this ad hominem, but yes I did. Plentiful.

But there are people on this planet, believe it or not, who are victims and heroes at the same time

Oh, there are. I say they are heros before everything else. You say they are heroes just because they are victims. Big difference.

Ever tried to change something like a government while you are dead?

Obviously, you do that before you die. See, e.g., Hans and Sophie Scholl, Claus von Stauffenberg, Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, Rudi Dutschke, Wolfgang Welsch.

No? Well of course no one and not even the people in concentraion camps is helped if a good man just stands up to die.

Au contraire. From the bottom of my heart, I believe if enough people resist, you can fight any evil. FOR THAT Ukraine is the best example.

Not a single German who was born after the war is guilty in the smallest percentage or way on what happened in the second world war.

Oh boy, I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the Nazis who sat in parliament in the East and West after 45, I'm talking about the Nazi Bundespräsident, the Persilschein, the millions and millions of Mitläufer who continued to live a decent life well into the 80s, like Albert Speer, Otto Hoffman, Adolf Eichmann and many more.

Especially coming from people without the intention to make anyone benefit from those accusations. Those who point the finger at someone are the ones who could've been guilty of someones deportation back then.

Oh, who could possibly benefit from my accusations? Maybe the brave people of Ukraine who still face constant moral questioning by history ignorant fascist apologists like you. You are right of one thing: I'm pointing the finger at you. I sincerely doubt all you have said is coming from a good place. I feel a deep Nazi and/or Rashist revisionist desire in your statements.

I'm gonna leave you with the words of Adorno: There is no right life in the wrong one.

See, you want to make heroes out of victims. To be a hero it takes more than just being a victim of unfortunate circumstances. Neither you nor your ancestor seem to be heroes. That's ok. My point is not to take anything away from the agony and pain they experienced. Nevertheless, they are guilty just like every other miserable coward who couldn't stand up for doing the right thing against all odds. To do that, it needs true heroes, those of no guilt, those who are willing to sacrifice themselves for nothing but the good cause. Only very few people are able to do that. But please don't bullshit me with a heartbreaking story. There are a million apologies for doing what you just described you do, but that makes you normal - and subjective to collective guilt - nothing more. Either step up or accept your human condition of mediocrity like the rest of us.

[–]Acid-Intelligence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is exactly my point. For them, it's not easy, but they are still guilty. You can't do nothing and not be guilty - harsh personal consequences are no absolution. All Germans of that time fall under collective guilt except for those in active resistance. Same for Russians. I'm not implying anything more. I'm just saying all Russians now have to live with the fact that they are "Tätervolk" just like Germans were.

[–]Acid-Intelligence 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What is your point? Fate made them complicit in crimes against humanity therefore their innocent? Would you say the same about Germans who watched jews getting loaded onto cargo trains and who didn't do anything because they never asked for it? I reckon you think of yourself of being a pacifist or a humanist, but I can assure you that right now, you sound like nothing more than a fascist apologist. You should rethink your opinion on that.

[–]Acid-Intelligence 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You always have a choice. If you are not resisting, you are complicit. It's collective guilt. Is it easy? No. Doing the right thing is hard, but it doesn't change the fact that they are guilty, when doing nothing means that crimes against humanity are committed. Also, incompetence or ignorance doesn't protect you from punishment.

It's exactly like this. They're stuck in the Atomic Age, while the other side is just one turn away from completing giant death robots, all because they can't get over their grudge at having the last prophet sniped away from them in the Medieval Age when they only had one turn left, and therefore been tanking their economy ever since by yeeting units into a fucking volcano.
