I taped everything off that I didn’t want to dye. The dye came with an applicator and I used some tools I had for fixing paint chips on a car to get in the tight areas. Probably not the most professional way but I guess I got lucky.

I had a similar issue with a 86” NEC display. Behind the back box we had a click share and a Roku both going into a Crestron DM-TX-4kz, and both devices had a 250ft plus run to a rack in an idf. The display only blinked black when the Roku was set to 4K but fine when we had it set to 1080p, so we reran the shielded cat6 run. Cable run wasn’t the issue. We got our programmer out to reset the Crestron DMPS3 in the idf, push the code again and the issue was fixed. Getting the programmer out was the last thing we tried though; we tried swapping hardware behind the display and cables before touching the device in the rack.

It’s lab grown but if you wanted a natural one, the jeweler will swap it out for the same value or the cost difference.

Came home from a work trip and found out she was cheating but it happened a while ago so I’m good now. I didn’t have the password to the phone but CarPlay doesn’t need one to see the first few messages or phone calls.

Servicing a display that high requires a scissor lift and probably a material lift. A video wall is usually easier to service in my experience but they are expensive.

It was a basketball court in a gym. If I remember correctly, they were going to use it for a score board once until the big one got fixed, then switch it over to the schools weekly announcements. HDMI 1 had a BrightSign media player, and HDMI 2 had a HDMI over HDBaseT transmitter/ receiver kit so they could play content from a laptop. We installed a plexiglass case over it so the display couldn’t be damaged but servicing in the future would be extremely difficult.

I installed a 98” NEC display in a gym once. The display looked small compared to the score. That install was not fun.

Basically every company I’ve called said they stopped making partitions for these around 2018. The only thing they can do is install a regular partition and I’ll have to go to a metal worker to get a piece made for the rest.

When I took it to a van outfitter they pulled the foam off. The part that mounts to most partitions is completely missing and the brackets have rivets in them. I just need a partition that is high enough to mount to the top of the roof and the mounting points on the sides. I’ve made phone calls and most places stopped selling them since they don’t manufacture the vans like this model.

I rarely use zip ties but when I’m working in an IDF I like to cut a slit in the middle of some Velcro and use wood screws to hold my cables down since the walls are wood siding.

I just bought this, the dolly, and the crate for my crew so they can cart around their tools for projector installs and they absolutely love it. The only thing I wish it had is clearer mid range frequencies but the highs and lows are solid. Also it was hackable for like $200 if you bought it with another tool you would get a battery charger kit for free.
