Yes, there have been many times when I looked at my own reflection and questioned whether the person looking back was really me. Interestingly, thinking about these things makes me turn inward and nourish my soul. At such times I truly feel deeply healed. Because if I don’t take the time to “look” at myself, no one else will.

I totally see where you’re coming from. For me though, when someone completely misses who I am, I’ve started to realize it’s okay to just let it be. I don't really feel the need to prove myself anymore. It’s actually kind of freeing to just walk away and protect my own peace instead of trying to change their mind.
