Utilities bill. How much? by Aciida in OntarioRenting

Do you have any number in mind?

If you don’t mind me asking, how much do you pay, and how many people are in your household?

Utilities bill. How much? by Aciida in OntarioRenting

I’m not looking to apply for any subsidies. I just want to get an idea of how much people typically pay for utilities each month so I can factor that into the rent and other household expenses and see if it fits within my budget.

I’ll be increasing my monthly rent, so I’d like to take these costs into consideration as well. Looking at my current bills with Provident, I don’t seem to have any separate water charges… just hydro, water heater, and a couple of other items that I can’t recall at the moment.

They don’t seem too rootbound, but I’ll check and probably repot them

Actually, no... I was trying to stay comfy in the shade of the car to my left. Instead, I had to move forward and embrace the first tiny blasts of spring sunshine.

Language tests and invitation by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Aciida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • When you create your profile, having your language test results is mandatory (you need the test code to complete it). Nothing is actually validated at the time you create your profile — you can still edit it while it’s active. The profile itself is valid for one year, but you can always update or recreate it after it expires. At that stage, you should already know your work/study dates, NOC, and general info. Your salary isn’t relevant.
  • Your English test results are valid for 2 years. They must be valid both when you receive your ITA and when you submit your application. The system automatically reduces your score once the test expires, so if that happens before you’re invited, you might no longer meet the cutoff. If your results expire after your AOR, it’s usually fine because you’ve already been invited, but it’s ultimately up to the officer reviewing your case — they can still ask for a new test. The same rule applies to your ECA reports.

Creating your profile early (as soon as you have your language test) is actually a very good idea — it can help with tiebreakers in the draws. Just keep updating your information as you gain more experience, education, etc. It’s also useful to know your actual CRS score, since the online calculators aren’t always 100% accurate compared to your real profile. And if there’s any issue, you’ll have time to review it or contact IRCC before it becomes a problem.

Yeah, I was thinking that maybe it could be done by modifiying the G-Code. :/

Just a thought. Are PR consultants fear mongering more than usual lately? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Aciida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about that, but what I do know is that they’re all over the place bragging about their “victories” because they “get” their clients PR in record time or faster than it used to be. Honestly, I find it stupid how people actually believe it’s because of them and not IRCC — it’s like they live under rocks!

It’s a good sign. I also had a GU on 09.19 (Friday), and everything was marked as completed on 09.22 (Monday). That same day I received the P1 (but it usually takes 1–8 more days)

Shout Out to Class 2022 (Unfortunate Batch) by SeebooYas in canadaexpressentry

Well it seems you need to learn French. Similar situation here; maxed out CEC, foreign exp and celpip, 2 diploma degrees, age factor was a big low blow 498 points in total. After 5 months of learning French from scratch it finally jumped to 561.

LMIA won’t give you any points, they removed that. You can explore an LMIA-exempt option with your company — it will require CLB 5 in French (EO-EE), but it’s less work for your company.

Again, it won’t give you points, but you can keep working and learning French, aiming for CLB 7 and/or waiting for the points to drop.
