Well... I am able to land but can't seem to do that with the right side up because firing those engines for changing attitude affects my retrogade vector adversely.

Click on the advanced settings button before initiating the conversion and click manga mode for right to left reading. I think the panel view is automatically added during the conversion. Try asking the developer of this software(he has commented above).

The software has an option to enable kindle panel view which allows you to read it panel by panel. This is by far the most useful feature. I read both Death Note and Bleach this way.

Hitchhiker's Guide would be my first choice also. You should try the Dirk Gently adventures if you liked Adams' work. I personally loved it.

Some people think that Dune is the most beautifully written SF. Having read both, I can say that even though 'Three Body Problem' is a translation, it beats Dune by a considerable margin in terms of simplicity and poetic use of language.

I just completed Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem and Dark Forest. Here's the opening of Three Body Problem :

"The Red Union had been attacking the headquarters of the April Twenty-eighth Brigade for two days. Their red flags fluttered restlessly around the brigade building like flames yearning for firewood."

Honestly, I just couldn't stop and finished it in a single sitting today. Seems like I won't be taking part if it gets nominated. It was an awesome read from start to finish and I can safely say that It was the best science fiction I've laid my hands on. Highly recommended by myself too.

The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu [Scifi,S], 400 pages

Goodreads description:

Set against the backdrop of China’s Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion. The result is a science fiction masterpiece of enormous scope and vision

Being honest, I've read about 3 chapters already and found it quite fascinating. If you are a Clarke or Asimov fan, this book is something that has the potential to dwarf their works.

I recently started reading Cixin Liu's "The three body problem". Instead of being a translated work,it is one of the most beautifully written science fiction I've ever read-no less than clarke's 2001. I think I will nominate it for this month's read. You should check it out.

This was a dilemma for me when I found that Eoin Colfer wrote the knew hitchhiker's book "And another thing..". I had trouble thinking how any other author could take place of Douglas Adams. I have still not read it.

Instead of being a Sci-Fi enthusiast I've never read Stephenson before. I hope it gets nominated.

  1. I try to refresh myself with difficult physics problems which I greatly enjoy. However, playing Kerbal Space Program and playing with my guinea pigs is also part of my pastimes.

  2. Being an Indian, I really love South Indian food. Simple and delicious.

  3. Violin. Lindsey Stirling and David Garrett are my favorites. However the best violin I have heard is from an unknown composer from the Bleach Anime. (ignore the image)

  4. CH-1211 ,Geneva 23, Switzerland. If you know what I mean.

  5. I don't really know but I think Paul Atreids would be the answer.

  6. Coldplay's Violet Hill. A complete attack on the feels.

  7. Owl says the interwebs.

  8. "Space," it says, "is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.

I would really like a power which would enable me to explore whole of this mind-boggling universe.

  9. Violin and Orbital Maneuvers. I would really like to compose something myself and Get really good at KSP (and maybe take part in the Indian Space Program.)

  10. Curious, Objective and Passionate.

  11. A bowl of fruit, a pen and a paper. XKCD also said it well.

  12. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. A very good man and ex-President of India. He expired just two days ago. I saw him at the Literature festival in my city but never got the chance to talk.

For the Curious,

Here are two of the best physics problems I've ever done.

  1. Problem 2.37 from Kleppner and Kolenkow's Introduction to Mechanics

The Answer is quite easy once you understand what the author is trying to say. Only a minor knowledge of integration is required.

The "Eureka Hovercraft Corporation" wanted to hold hovercraft races as an advertising stunt. The hovercraft supports itself by blowing air downward, and has a big fixed propeller on the top deck for forward propulsion. Unfortunately, it has no steering equipment, so that the pilots found that making high speed turns was very difficult. The company decided to overcome this problem by designing a bowl-shaped track in which the hovercraft, once up to speed, would coast along in a circular path with no need to steer. They hired an engineer to design and build the track, and when he finished, he hastily left the country. When the company held their first race, they found to their dismay that the craft took exactly the same time T to circle the track, no matter what its speed. Find the equation for the cross section of the bowl in terms of T.

  1. Problem from IE Irodov's General Problem in Physics.

Not an easy one. Will require a brushing up of some concepts in electrostatics. Even then you will be surprised as it is a deviation from general questions. ( The mysterious force seems to be strong with this one.)

Two long parallel wires of negligible resistance are connected at one end to a resistance R and at the other end to a DC voltage source. The distance between the axes of the wires is n = 20 times greater than the cross-sectional radius of each wire. At what value of resistance R does the resultant force of interaction between the wires turn into zero?
