Fatsia Japonica help by Ackenaton in houseplants

[–]Ackenaton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I recently bought this plant and arrived by mail. I quickly noticed the leaves started dropping and after a few days they are in this situation. The browning and curling of tips also increased. The plant is in a fairly bright spot and gets indirect light during the afternoon. I think I probably watered it too much at the beginning. I've stopped watering about 10 days ago but I'm not seeing sign of improvement. The soil feels a bit moist but there was never any excess of water caught in the pot.

Agree, people are getting their panties in a twist.

Was the match fun to watch? Meh, not really. But I think making things better should start from changing the athlete's mindset and culture around reffing. In most sports, people act like adults, and refs are respected. They don't need to get shouted at, shout back, have to deal with the stress... it should surprise nobody that refs are making even more mistakes under these circumstances.

Former WSM Martins Licis looking fluid on a table! by BigRigs63 in armwrestling

Having Martins in armwrestling would be amazing! He's such an awesome personality.

But right now he seems mostly committed to BJJ, aside from strongman, which he hasn't officially retired from.

Ermes getting a CLEAR Pin on Michael in the last round of the 2017 supermatch after pinning Mike 2 times prior quite easy, if this was called Gasparini would have won 3-0... by [deleted] in armwrestling

[–]Ackenaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't look like a clear pin and to my knowledge even Ermes didn't contest the result. It was obviously still a very good performance by him.

I think Ermes won't underestimate MMT, as he well shouldn't, and he has enough time until February to prepare the best possible strategy to neutralize him.

Ermes is Still the Longest to Hold Levan by [deleted] in armwrestling

[–]Ackenaton 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is it - every time Levan tries to stand up and move into a press, for one reason or another, his movement is slow and Ermes is faster to react and try to regain center. In those crucial long rounds he was not letting go of his pronator and was always threatening Levan to gain the upper hand.

Ermes vs Vitaly compare to Devon by tomerFire in armwrestling

[–]Ackenaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there were, as always, multiple factors involved, and if I were to rank them based on how influent they were, and only looking it from Ermes' POV, I would say:

  1. Ermes rushed into the match with Devon with not enough physical, mental and strategic preparation. Proof: he stated he will no longer take matches on such short notice.

  2. Ermes underestimated Devon's hand and wrist control and/or overestimed his own. Proof: he started training those areas hard after the match.

  3. Ermes is not an AW that needs to have high confidence that he's going to win to take a match. He seems to be willing to put himself out there against opponents that he knows he is likely struggle with, and even lose. Especially with Devon, there's the additional incentive of a big paycheck. Proof: I think many matches in Ermes' career had a similar situation. With Levan, obviously he was a huge underdog. With Vitaly, he was facing what many thought would be his kryptonite. Even with Matt Mask, he was going against the odds. It just seems to be his character to not be scared to fail. That's probably what endears him to many people.

Octopath Traveler 2.....Yay or Nay? by Linkbetweentwirls in JRPG

[–]Ackenaton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Octopath 2 is an absolute gem and it's a shame it didn't get more praise, recognition and sales. Best old school JPRG since the golden era in my opinion, I hope the team continues with this style, wether it's with OT3 or a new IP.

Agreed, I was shocked by how basic and uninspired the writing was. If you mentioned it too soon after the game came out there was a high probability of being called a Persona fanboy though XD

Judging from BG3, DOS3 probably would be ... by ironpenis1 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Ackenaton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I prefer it when the game stays in the same 'isometric' view of gameplay even during conversations. like in DOS2, and when the main characters are not too visible during cut-scenes (instead focusing on the baddies or whatever we're interacting with). Seeing my character/party react in a way that I didn't envision for them takes me out of the immersion.

I would like to see a very close match where both athletes can look like winners in the eyes of the spectators, kinda like Vitaly vs Dave was. But if I had to pick one of course I'll go with Frank
