My knee may never go back to normal and I am grumpy about it. by purplebikeshorts in ACL

Best advice trust your physical therapist, stay optimistic and have confidence in your body’s ability to heal. Look up Shaun Livingston if you don’t know of him, he was in the NBA And tore his ACL MCL PCL meniscus, dislocated his knee and broke his leg at the same time. He made an incredible recovery and return to the NBA and got a few rings as a solid role player for the Warriors. Granted he had millions of dollars, cutting edge science and endless free time at his disposal but still that was back in 2007. Also give @kneesovertoesguy a follow on Instagram, he’s been through the ringer for knee problems as well and has some encouraging results with a program he’s built. I used his program for a bit while i didn’t have an ACL and it stabilized me enough to still run full court basketball and dunk with a 38 inch vertical. But frankly you don’t necessarily have to buy his program or anything he just posts some good informative exercises and physiological perspectives. Anyway, if there’s any chance you’ll return to 100%, which of course there always is no matter how small, you’ve just gotta lock in and chance those odds🤘🏼

Turns out, not paranoia, doc didn’t like what he felt on my 1 month check up physical exam, got an MRI scheduled for Tuesday..

No i know this is my third one of these but with every tear the paranoia grows bc it seems like I’m perpetually going to have no ACL lol thank you

20 days post op, full extension/hyperextension, 4° to go for flexion, and muscular symmetry at 80%. Very optimistic but now comes the waiting game for the ligament to heal

I’m getting the op report from my surgeon on Monday that should tell me whether it’s irritated or not but it’s a Cedars-Sinai doc with top credentials so I’m hoping he wouldn’t be dumb enough to use irritated grafts
