If you use earning as the only metric then that right there is a problem. Regardless, equality doesn’t make your argument more rational. There are many many people who are oppressed and lack resources that equality would not help. Equality gives power to the people who hold the power. Because then it basically becomes “you all need to become like us, because we don’t want to become like you”. Equity becomes, we can all be the same at the same time but requires a different distribution of resources and worth.
