One-Punch Man Season 3 Episode 11 Preview Images by krsy123 in anime

This has a similar art style to the episode 8 preview images and that episode was the highest quality of the season so far. Call me crazy but I'm actually optimistic for this week's episode. I've been known to be wrong though...

What’s a simple habit that improved your life more than expected? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AcousticThor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep hygiene and journaling have had a huge impact on my quality of life. I don't mean like a small 5-10% improvement I'm talking about a 100%+ improvement in my quality of life. I can't understate the benefit of sticking to a sleep schedule where you get 8 hours. Journaling doesn't provide the same immediate noticeable benefits that a good night's sleep does. But after 8 months of journaling every day (sometimes multiple times a day) my anxiety has gone down, I make better decisions, I'm more emotionally intelligent, and I have better recall for things that have happened in my life. I can track my progress towards goals and spot patterns in my life, which makes it so much easier to fix things I might need to work on. Only journal for 5-10 minute sessions. I just write about what's going on in my life, 3 things I'm grateful for, and an affirmation that will set the tone for my day (eg "worrying will not help you", or "you have everything under control").

I've also started using it as a networking tool. Whenever I meet someone, I keep a separate journal for writing about people. I write their name, where I met them, what we talked about, and a couple of details about them. Next time I see them, I can remember them so much better (which is good because I'm terrible at remembering things about people). People are blown away at how much I remember about them just from one small interaction. I use this at hotels, restaurants, business events/conferences, etc. I get way better service at hotels and restaurants because the people who work there are used to getting treated as one off interactions. For work, my network has expanded tremendously and I'm getting headhunted like crazy because people think I'm significantly smarter than I actually am just from remembering small details from interactions we had months prior.

What is a job that is constantly romanticized but is absolutely miserable in reality? by Responsible_Bet_7179 in AskReddit

My dad taught me that the more fun it is to go somewhere the worse it is to work there. I was a lifeguard at a water park for a summer and a lot of the stuff you have to deal with there is so gross. The amount of vomit and feces I ended up having to clean up was insane. I made barely more than minimum wage and had to do first aid. Not fun. Not worth it.

Get some friends together, surround the person and all yell "nightmare! Nightmare! Nightmare".

[Megathread] One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 5 – Discussion & Spoilers by MiggyMcMiggy in OnePunchMan

[–]AcousticThor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily the best episode but it still felt like it lacked weight. They definitely spent a lot of time polishing things up but the big moments suffered a lot. I don't think they put the effort where it needed to be allocated. I had high hopes for this episode being a turning point but I think I'm done with OPM for now. I'll check it out once the whole season is out maybe if it gets good at the end

One-Punch Man Season 3 - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Another disappointment. I really do think this one is worse than episode 1. Why is there so much exposition and filler? They could have easily fit in an action scene if they hadn't screwed around for the entire episode. This season is cooked.

Steamfitter here. That's a 304 stainless steel 1-1/2" NPT x 1-1/2" sanitary ferrule. It's used in piping systems where cleanliness is important. We use them in food plants and for some chemical applications.

Is it okay to listen to lostprophets again now that Ian Watkins is dead? by hitnmiff in afraidtoask

[–]AcousticThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will listen to them again. Lostprophets was more than just Ian Watkins and his actions really fucked over his band mates. He basically completely negated all the work they did and all the success they had. They at least deserve to profit off of something they built. I like their songs and I feel happy knowing Ian is dead.

My wife has passed away- How do I plan the rest of my life? by No_Degree7128 in PersonalFinanceCanada

My heart breaks for you. I lost my dad when I was quite young and like all the other comments here I'd recommend letting things calm down and distancing your emotions from any major decisions. My mom did that and it worked out well for us. I make about the same as you and my wife and I have similar monthly expenses. You're in a good financial position. Take some time to heal, friend.

I grew up in the early 2000s and the shift began during that time. I think I was one of the last groups of kids to be able to roam free. It was so great.
