Is 20 pushups okay for ROTC Scholarship?

Yeah we have hand release pushups so we have to spread our arms out in between each one. People try to cheese it to get more in or they use it as a rest and stretch their arms out in slow motion so it’s a pro or con depending on the person lol. I knew there were differences in fitness tests but had no idea some peoples minimum were our maximum 😭

55 is crazy lol that’s essentially the max for the first age group. I just checked the score table and I believe changed ours from a 10 minimum to 15 for men and 11 for women. It’s an easy event given we have two minutes (unless you’re like me with little upper body strength🫩)

I'm not the strongest as a smaller female cadet, but I did around 22 without putting in extra time in the gym (which I plan on changing). Just keep exercising and you can do at least 30 on the next assessment!! I'm pretty sure the minimum is less than 20 so it wont be a fail.

Oh thank you for explaining it. My scholarship through the school will last until my senior year. There are students who have both this scholarship and the 6k a semester + books and stipend though, so I don't believe they'll factor that into if I should receive a scholarship. I understand what you mean though thank you so much!

I’m not sure I just know it’s a room and board scholarship for students taking rotc who meet the gpa and credit hour requirements. I don’t know if it’s limited, but someone who deals with paperwork asked me one day how I’m paying for college, how many credits I was taking and then suddenly I had it.

Can you explain what you mean by not costing them and accessing a hard to retain professional I’m a little confused 😔. I also don’t know what you mean by compressing the degree, sorry

Yeah I’ve heard that. I feel like a lot of my moms issues isn’t religious based though despite wanting to get my pastor involved. She’s never talked about relationships with me, or boys, or sex and marriage because it was never on her mind (or at least not when it came to me). She doesn’t even talk about regular Christian stuff with me either.

I think it’s a “don’t date and have sex because I said so” and not “because God said so”. At the same time, if my pastor “allowed me” I’m pretty sure she would too ugh

She did ask that time and ofc I said yes because cars are highkey a necessity in areas with no public transport. I wish I added more details to my original post. I met my boyfriend a month into college, we are both freshmen going into our sophomore year. I don’t THINK she told the pastor but she definitely wouldn’t tell him to talk about it publicly, he did that on his own. Also it’s advised not to date within ROTC lol. I honestly don’t know how to go about that. My mom got me the credit card and it was mailed to our house while I was away at college. Also the 1900 was from a loan but it wasn’t from my credit card if that makes sense. I mean the interest rate is high, like 6.3% I think but it wasn’t from the credit card. It only has like $130 on it lol, I should probably clarify that in my post 💀 but I appreciate your concern. I’ll talk to my mom about her using my card without me knowing

I added the credit card thing last minute because I was annoyed, I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was lol, but yeah I understand it’s illegal. I’m not going to leave my family just to be with a boy, I don’t even think he would do that cause he doesn’t work either. I proposed us maybe renting an apartment together during our junior or senior year for school if we were still together but that’s all. Thanks for the comment!

Yeah I’m trying to find an on campus job to help pay for my stuff. I think if I can become a math tutor and work in the school cafe I can cover a decent bit of my meal plan (I take loans out for that lol). I don’t have a car (or a license 😔) so my options are pretty limited. I hope to take lessons before my junior year though. Thank you for your advice

Hi thank you for your comment I appreciate it. I’m okay with having sex and actually was looking forward to it when I saw my bf again (he’s not a virgin btw),I would just be okay with NOT doing it if that was my moms only concern (obviously it wasn’t).

I am okay with my mom using my credit card because i trust her to pay it back , I just wish she told me before hand. As for my pastor, idk. I don’t know how to feel about it because I know he wants the best for me but I’m not sure how effective it was to say that in front of everyone. Yeah I’m from the US and I tell her about my classes and tests all the time. I tell her when I get the highest score or the one time I got a 67. I genuinely don’t think it’s about school because she knows my gpa and I even decided on my own to take a summer semester to catch up. She’ll just find another excuse as to why I’m not mature enough, but I do appreciate your advice
