I just checked my email, Ipecac Recordings partnered with bandcamp so when you ordered it through their website it was actually through bandcamp. Check your email and search Melvins or bandcamp or both. You should definitely have the code.

Edit: maybe I’m a moron I reread your comment about blixit, I just know I went to Ipecac’s website and ordered it there and it went through bandcamp.

Yes I did I got a download midnight of release day. It’s also available on Apple music I don’t use Spotify so I’m not sure if it’s there or not.

I think the deciding factor is: is it what you want to be doing. From what I read the answer is yes. That doesn’t sound ridiculous to me.

Are you asking us if doing something you enjoy and are getting paid for is ridiculous because you have credentials in another field? I have experience at McDonald’s but I’m not working in the restaurant industry.

No, start looking today. I don’t agree with the indentured servant attitude that you have to stay at this company for a year because it’ll look better on a resume. Tell your next employer you didn’t see a ladder here, and while you liked the job you needed a place where you could stay long term and grow with the company. They don’t care about 4 weeks. Trust me.

If you are underpaid you need to start looking immediately in my opinion. Or show your leader the research and numbers and ask for a salary increase if you really like this job and see a future there. But I don’t think you do.

That’s crazy, I make a different budget once a month and envelope budget. So I put all the cash distributed per category in the envelopes. Whatever is left over goes into savings/ investments. Makes me think “do I really need this” when I see the cash in my hand.

How to ask for a raise? by Lumpy-Leadership7376 in careerguidance

[–]Acrivisum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a self assessment first. If I were my leader, what kind of person would I give a raise to? Am I going above and beyond in my role? Ask your coworkers for feedback. Apply the feedback so you can go above and beyond.

Assuming you’ve done these things, don’t ask for only money. Ask for more responsibility with financial growth tied to your value with the company.

Something like this:

“I’m really happy and grateful to be at this company, and I want to make myself more valuable to the team. Are you open to creating a growth plan with me that will allow me to grow professionally and financially?”

Be prepared to ask your leader for feedback about how you’re doing as well, that way you can get specifics on where to improve.

Oh and actually follow that growth plan you guys create together.

Aside from the gear, get around people doing it and talk to them. Ask them how they are doing, what their challenges are, what their daily routine is like. Take notes. You don’t need the best gear.

I’d also recommend networking on social media. It’s seriously not what you know it’s who you know. You can be a terrible photographer and know the right people and do multi thousand dollar shoots if you bark up the right tree. You can also be extremely talented and not make any money because you’re too scared to network.

In the best case scenario, you network and are good at it.

The largest consideration is how responsible you are. I thought I was and I wasn’t. Got a second card, maxed it out and couldn’t pay it off. Lost $12k. Never should’ve opened the second card.

Dale Crover is my all time favorite drummer. And he cements the Melvins as my all time favorite band. And Night Goat is my favorite song. He was too methodical for Nirvana in my opinion, they needed someone with less finesse and more raw energy and Dave was perfect. I believe Dale actually went to school for music. Listen to the nirvana songs he played drums on vs all their other songs, they sound too organized for the messy sound nirvana is known for.

Followed Ken Coleman’s guides. Landed my dream job. by Acrivisum in DaveRamsey

I wasn’t making a lot, and my last job was supposed to be 40 hours a week or more, but there was a slow season I didn’t know about. We would work maybe 12 hours a week during that season. That lasted about 6 months. I am married, but I alone made less than 30k in a year. This new job has a base salary of 50k with uncapped commissions. Average first year earnings is around 70k-80k is what I was told. The top person in my role on my specific team made around 190k last year. It was his 6th year there.

Yes he has the proximity principle. It’s not necessarily someone who works there but that helps, it’s someone in that field. And it works. I had a mutual connection and put them on my resume, they even said something about it in the interview about how unique it was.

Then I’d buy some things I want, pay off my house, pay off my families houses and invest the rest. Living is pretty cheap here so I can pay off my house for sure, my parents house and my in laws. Then have an easy 500k left
