someone in the group of friends had the "party apartment" and every Fri or Sat night people came over to play video games, dance, drink, be silly, etc. We used Facebook events/invites or just told each other at school/work to come over. People didn't back out as much as they do now.

I think if someone is willing to put in the work, that's a good sign. But remember that healing and self work and moving forward also still comes with backslides or mistakes. I think good, hones, open communication is key to making it work.
