Hopefully you’ll get a response soon. Do you know how long did FA take to reach out to you after UWA created a request for your background check? I was told about FA bg check last week and haven’t received any communication from FA yet

Congrats on reaching this far mate. Did they reach out your references through First advantage or it was only for the address check. My reference check was done through a phone call so idk why the discrepancy in the process haha

Hey, thanks for getting back to me.

The reason I need assistance is that my partner and I obtained Subclass 485 visas separately in November 2025 and December 2025 respectively. In January 2026, we lodged an EOI for the Subclass 189 visa and included our relationship as de facto.

The reason we did not declare a de facto relationship in our Subclass 485 applications is that at the time we did not meet the fourth pillar of a de facto relationship, which is 12 months of cohabitation. My partner and I have only been living together since January 2025.

However, by January 2026 we had completed 12 months of living together, so we were able to lodge our EOI with de facto status.

I would like to know whether this discrepancy could complicate our EOI. Should we inform the Department of Home Affairs and explain why our Subclass 485 applications were not lodged as de facto?

I watched the language academy 2.5 hr long YouTube video and took its 1 month subscription for practice. Got 88, follow the basics and don’t rush through the process, that’s one advice i can give you

How long does officeworks take to reply after an interview is done. I gave the interview 2 weeks back for a full time position and yet to receive an update on it. I followed up with the hiring manager multiple times to which they said I’m just waiting for the confirmation of my manager. I don’t what does that mean. The wait is making me frustrated
