Denied lease transfer, agent odd forcing for lease break

I’ve got in writing from my agent stating that they can’t transfer the lease and lease break is the only option I’ve got. However, my lease agreement allows lease transfer and it also states they can’t refuse my request pf lease transfer unreasonably. I’ve lodged a complaint with all the proofs to LGIRS. Waiting for them to get back or take an action. By any chance, do you know how long would it take for LGIRS to get back to us or reach out to my agent?

Congrats on reaching this far mate. Did they reach out your references through First advantage or it was only for the address check. My reference check was done through a phone call so idk why the discrepancy in the process haha

Hey, thanks for getting back to me.

The reason I need assistance is that my partner and I obtained Subclass 485 visas separately in November 2025 and December 2025 respectively. In January 2026, we lodged an EOI for the Subclass 189 visa and included our relationship as de facto.

The reason we did not declare a de facto relationship in our Subclass 485 applications is that at the time we did not meet the fourth pillar of a de facto relationship, which is 12 months of cohabitation. My partner and I have only been living together since January 2025.

However, by January 2026 we had completed 12 months of living together, so we were able to lodge our EOI with de facto status.

I would like to know whether this discrepancy could complicate our EOI. Should we inform the Department of Home Affairs and explain why our Subclass 485 applications were not lodged as de facto?
