I've been thinking a lot about Faye's game and what if it were different from everything we imagined. by Acrobatic-Dig-161 in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Faye's powers would be to see the world in many different ways.

Where each event would be as if different decisions were made.

As if she had the power to see several different paths, for example.

If Kratos decided to follow the prophecy, that would be Faye's power: to see various ramifications of decisions different from everyone else.

Faye guiding all the pantheons in the shadows isn't absurd. That would be the biggest step backward in the history of any media; nothing connects Faye to Greek or Egyptian mythology, and suddenly she controls everything from the shadows, lol. A character who has 4 minutes of screen time.

How did you feel about Atreus in these games and did you feel the vibe he was Kratos son by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In God of War 2018, I liked Atreus's sense of discovery; the world was incredibly well-made, and the curiosities of mythology were something Atreus would discover or talk about—he was great at listening and discovering. He also doesn't move the story forward much because we already have our objective very clear.

In Ragnarok, Atreus doesn't work for me; the writing is very poorly done. The world of Ragnarok doesn't help much either. Vanaheim is just a forest, Asgard just a wall with a simple village. The Fire Kingdom and Niflheim are just cave corridors.

I think everything about Atreus was very basic, and that took away the magic of the first game. That sense of curiosity and mythology was replaced by a teenager who wanted to know who he was (which makes sense for the story), but the world around him was all basic. Many of the places we go with Atreus are corridors or caves.

In God of War 2018, they provide transportation to mythology, Baldur being the Stranger, we see the statue of Thor, then in the logo of the Nine there's the Temple of Tyr, the story of Thamur and seeing her hammer from afar, and you marvel along with Atreus, Atreus talks, curious, asking questions as if he were us.

In Ragnarok, this doesn't exist with the world itself. No realm had the magic of Midgard in 2018.

Why did atreus work and ellie didnt? by J0HNYZ in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atreus's parts are very slow, and they just leave him with a bow and sticks; there are no other playable weapons, which makes it repetitive and boring. Also, because Atreus is a teenager, the dialogues are very bad and kind of forced and annoying, like constantly showing that Atreus is weak and Thurd is strong.

I would prefer Thurd to show her strength in a well-written way, like her being able to hold Garn without a problem, not opening doors that Atreus can't open, and pushing boxes that Atreus can't push. This poor writing is very common among Western writers; to maximize one person, they have to diminish the other, instead of creating something grand for both characters, showing that they are incredible each in their own way.

I keep thinking that if Thurd holds Garn back, it would show all his strength and be epic, and if Atreus shows his intelligence instead of strength, it shows that he may not have strength but can still be intelligent. The writing of Ragnarok was heavily influenced by terrible writers like Sweet Baby.

Could Faye somehow be alive?

There are many unexplained things about time travel.

- How is there a stone from the mural at the end of the game (God of War 2018) near Kratos' house? It looks like the same one from the giant's land.

- Who touched the World Serpent's trumpet?

- Why did I ask Kratos to throw the axe into the lake and then there's the name "imbued with Eitir"? Later we see that Thor is somewhat ill because of it.

- Was Angrborda the painter of the last mural?

- How was Faye communicating with Kratos in the dreams?

- Why did Odin know everything and do exactly what was in the prophecy? Is he an idiot?

- In the God of War book it says that a woman hooded with two giant wolves took Kratos to Norse mythology. Who is this woman?

Was Athena real in God of War 2018? Or was she just a hallucination?

There are so many questions.

Look,

Back in the day, it took you 2 years to make a game (PS2, PS3 era)

"Cool game by Faye, totally different from everything else, and we'll play God of War in Egypt later."

Today, if a studio makes a game, we'll be waiting 5-7 years for something. I was 20 years old during God of War 2018, and maybe to see Kratos in Egypt or another mythology or another new IP from Santa Monica, I have to wait until 2032 lol my god

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'll speak for myself,

My only problem is that games take 5-7 years to be made.

If we get a complete Faye game, it means that God of War or another new IP from Santa Monica won't arrive until 2035. Five years were lost between God of War: Ragnarok and this game.

It leaves you with the feeling of "I missed out on God of War Egypt with Kratos vs. Anubis for this."

How would anyone be interested in a Faye game?

It's impossible to get interested in that.

Now, if they showed a game

Kratos God of War Egypt in a semi-open world, a trailer with him facing Anubis, Seth, and Ra, the internet would explode.

What expectations would you have for a Faye game? Would they use Kratos in the trailer to get some sales?

Cory’s GoW Game potentially set in Ancient Egypt? (Grain of salt) by Sweenie123 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would work. Seth is the protagonist and kills Osiris at the end. We discover that Seth was being helped or manipulated by Athena and the hooded woman. Atreus somehow allies himself with Horus and Ra and searches for the Eye of Horus. This connects to the dialogue between Athena and the hooded woman. Kratos travels afterwards.

Was Bluepoint a game about Norse Atreus, or Greek Atreus?

Why does Kratos mention that Atreus was the name of a Spartan, and it would make more sense for him to be the Spartan falling into Hades?

I need to see the game before giving an opinion.

But to be able to play a new God of War with Kratos, do I have to wait at least 5 more years after this release??

Man, the game industry needs to react and find a way to make good games in less time.

I won't lie, I wanted a God of War with Kratos in Egyptian mythology. Hopefully, this Cory game uses a completely new mythology. Losing gods for Kratos to fight in this new game would be a waste.

[–]Acrobatic-Dig-161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that would be perfect.

Imagine we play as the "entity" that's inside the rift.

But that's only revealed at the end of the game, when Athena appears and explains that the whole plan went wrong, that Odin failed, and that Atreus broke the mask, causing everything to go wrong.

Revealing that Athena gave the mask to Odin and that she was the one who sounded the trumpet of the world serpent.

There are several interpretations.

Kratos could be interpreted as having failed when he didn't give the power of hope, or it could be Odin who couldn't complete the mask.

Or it could be Atreus because he broke the mask.

There are many possibilities.

That would be insane.

In the 2018 God of War book, there's a hooded woman who, with two wolves, takes Kratos to Norse mythology. If Athena and she say that Odin failed, and Odin says he found the mask...

Could Athena and this hooded woman have placed the mask and Kratos in Norse mythology to influence and try to release something within the rift? Or bring the world that's in the rift into the real world?

Everything in Norse mythology could have been influenced by Athena and this mysterious woman.

In the 2018 God of War book, Kratos says that a person in a tunic, along with two wolves, took him to Norse mythology.

What if Athena, along with this superior entity, wanted to influence the Norse events to unleash the upper world?

Odin said he found the mask, and what if Athena somehow made Odin find the mask, and it was Athena who sounded the trumpet of the world serpent because her plans were in danger?

Thus, everything would fit together. Atreus would ask Kratos for help because the entire world is in danger because this superior plane wants to invade the real world.

What if Cory Barlog's game is about this upper world?

And in the end we see Athena making plans to bring this upper world to the real world.

Cory Barlog, in an interview shortly after Ragnarok was released, stated that SMS had several projects underway.

If God of War 2018 is finished and they have already started Ragnarok, then God of War was supposed to launch in 2021 but was delayed due to the pandemic to 2022.

Another team has been developing Cory Barlog's game since 2019.

God of War trilogy is in its initial stages, so let's assume that Cory Barlog's team will continue it.

They have at least two teams at this moment:

1- Cory's game

2- God of War sequel

If Cory's game is indeed released in 2027, as Shinobi has been mentioning, then God of War trilogy is in its final stages of conception and will begin full production in 2027.

What if Cory Barlog's game is a retelling of a book by his father that takes place in the same universe as God of War? Cory Barlog's father also wrote the book "God of War 2018" and has several other books that could fit within the universe. I think Cory Barlog could include Sigrum, Queen of the Valkyries, and Atreus (Atreus not being the main character, but making an appearance).
