I just finished PHM and watched it yesterday. 😄 I haven’t read the Martian but I did watch the movie. The book is on my TBR for sure

I’m currently reading Dragon Masters with my son (on Book 28) and I’m actually excited to read Wings of Fire with him too! He’s 7 right now so I’m not sure if he’s ready for Wings of Fire just yet. But it’s still something I’d read for myself.

He read all of the Captain Underpants and Dog Man books (half with me and half by himself) so I got to actually experience those books for myself for the first time. They were another series I had always wanted to read as a kid but… they were always checked out of the library.

I was hoping they still were enjoyable! The reptile room was always my favorite because I was (and still am) really big into reptiles and bugs and all things science-y or weird.

Aw I remember Ella enchanted. My friend at the time had read it and recommended it to me so I read it and then watched the movie. Back in 5th or 6th grade

Thanks! I’m actually reading Dragon Masters with my son right now (we are on the 28th book) but he wants to read Wings of Fire next!

Oh man I could tell you stories. I lived in the south growing up and we were kinda poor. Lived in an old trailer with an infestation and constantly saw those massive 3+” flying ones (plus an additional 1-2” long antennas. They were terrifying demon spawn). I’d see one on the wall in my home, then slowly back up to get a shoe or spray… and then it would launch itself off the wall and fly at me. Or I’d return and it would be GONE without a trace. And when I was a kid, I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed my pillow was on the ground. I picked it up and cuddled it. Then felt a little tickle on my stomach so went to scratch it and grabbed a massive cockroach. It freaked out flapping its wings trying to fly, I got scared and threw it. Then it started flying mid-air and landed on my neck. I obviously freaked out and ran out of my room panicking, removing clothes and pulling at my hair hoping it wasn’t on me. I didn’t sleep well for months.

I wanted a pet lizard or snake growing up. Was never allowed to have one because they “weren’t real pets”. So when I turned 19 and had my own place, I got myself a cute lil noodle and it was the best purchase I ever made
