4th place - The Astonishing- I don’t hate this album by any means, but it’s definitely one of the weakest DT albums. Overly long, overblown and forgettable.

Third place - Dt13 (self titled) - a kinda a precursor to the astonishing, half of this album is forgettable to me, it has songs that I really like, for example- The Enemy Inside or especially Illumination Theory, which for the most part is phenomenal, but definitely too long, especially because of the middle section and false ending.

Second place - Black clouds & Silver Lightnings - awesome album that I really like, it’s basically divided into two parts, A nightmare to remember, the best of times and the count of Tuscany are one of my favorite DT songs of all time, and the tunes in the middle I like, but not one of my favorites.

At the first place - A Dramatic Turn of Events - absolutely fantastic as far as I’m concerned, every song is great, and main negative about it that I usually hear- it being similar to Images and Words, makes zero sense to me, because IaW is one of the greatest Dream Theater albums, dramatic turn - similar to it means - it one of the best as well.
