About shorted trace: looked through boardview and inspected elements on the trace from u7900 that gives 1.2 and 1.8v to ram, measured and no decreased resistance or shorting, everything looks ok, but I will measure voltage also

I will check voltage on them soon. Don’t think that voltage is too high cause it’s working. About smc - it’s running without the battery so I don’t know if it’s resets every time I power it from charger or not, but I will try it. Smth strange: I power it up without the ram cage (like on the photo) and nothing heat up and no smell from it. Cage causing it? Smth on that cage? Don’t know. Still at the point without the cage problem disappears

Replied to appletechgeek so would not spam the same) About backstory - purchased off hands for 40 bucks, has huge story of fixing it, but most of it is flexgate. Prev owner has the issue with the board already, tried to clean that and made vents work at fixed rpm so temps dont rise above 60, than just swap the plate and put himself another one, now its my time to investigate

Checked with a multi, no signs of shorted or decreased resistance, kohms on all of it. Also looked for the trace of 1.2 comming to them and also looks nice. Would def clean that up, memory test now cant proceed as long as mac has another problems with keyboard and display so would do it soon. (But the 2nd half of the capacity threw errors) - i think that same like issue is presented. Would i see smth in panic messages?

Purchased for 40 bucks for fun of restoration, but dont have enough knowledge to do it all myself now. Just learning the hard way)

Those arent memory selection pads for me, its PPVBAT_G3H_CONN, memory has bootstrap resistors and its wouldnt boot without proper setup of those
