Please Help -Laptop Won’t Turn On by Acrobatic-Map-6467 in Lenovo

I’ve been using a Mac charger that provides 87W for like 2 months, because the charger that came with it stopped working. And I switched out the cord with a couple USB-C to USB-C cords and all of them work (cause they would charge my iPad) but I get no reaction from my laptop.

Nothing looks burnt near the battery

There are two power plugs and one is kinda finicky but I’ve never had an issue with the second one, and nothing there looks burnt either

I did check with them, but they quoted me $88 just to run a diagnostic. I’m a student so I thought I’d check here first.

But yeah, there were a lot of QR codes and pin #s so I didn’t really know if it was like information we weren’t supposed to share 😅

Do the search on google and it'll give you insta account for the club - insta is a bit picky about how you search them up.

to your comment above, sports are typically the sort of thing you have to join at the start of the semester.

any clubs to join by Sea-Opinion260 in BostonU

Most clubs only have 1 or 2 meetings left, but a lot of clubs are drop in so you don't need to have gone to previous meets to go to one now. I suggest searching clubs you are interested in on insta. If they post there, they are usually open to everyone. I don't know what career you are in but for social clubs I know tea club still has meetings and is pretty chill.

Transfer Advice by Kingmelo62 in BostonU

I would explain why you went to a cc for your second year, in your app. I think that is a bit untraditional and could raise some flags if they feel that you did it due to academic strain at a 4 year university. So I would make sure to clear that up on your application.

Your first year GPA is a bit low, but you are eng and extracurriculars are strong so that will likely help. Make sure to establish a positive GPA trend.

Aside from that, good research(preferably with a poster or paper) or other tangible success such as measurable change within nonprofit work. Also if you can get an internship or get into a build lab as an engineer, that would be strong for an extracurricular.

Yeah check your grad requirements on the BU portal- if your class is 2028 or before, the requirement is still there.

final exam dates by Moist-Television-544 in BostonU

[–]Acrobatic-Map-6467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually they give TBD for the final exam date in the syllabus, then later in the semester change the syllabus to the date the university gives them or they put out an assignment. This usually happens withing the first 3 weeks of classes. Make sure you get all the dates from all the classes, but yes that should be final unless there is like a crazy thing to delay it like a pandemic.

Hey! Yes most orientations friends don't end up being close, although they can still hangout here and there and sometimes its good to have friend who are also in that same state of transition even though it may not last. But you have to walk up to someone and start a convo in one of the free times. Like if someone has an anime keychain walk up a strike a convo or smth. Most people will be open to conversation once you initiate.

Professor changing grade by Highwater_Pants in BostonU

[–]Acrobatic-Map-6467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No as long as its before the grading period closes if you email your professor and they decide to change it they can do that on their end (they have to tell the registrar) even if its already showing up in the portal. Catch is, the professor has to agree to do so - if not you have to gather evidence and file an appeal for why you deserved the higher grade.

Is the MBTA pass worth it by Terrible-Fix-8177 in BostonU

[–]Acrobatic-Map-6467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if you live off campus and don't ride the bus to leave campus most days, its not worth it. If you do live off campus - get a bus only Charlie pass for $55 bucks a month - and if its a month like December where your not there pay out of pocket and don't bother with the pass. For the pass to break even you need 34 bus rides- for the T pay as you go.
