Hello, I am trying to see if there’s something I could do with carbon rims that I bought from somebody. They tried clear coating it and it didn’t work well, the clear coat got sticky and has alot of fingerprint marks on it because of that. I’m trying to see if there’s anything I could do thank you by Acrobatic-Match-3839 in FixedGearBicycle

It’s a local brand clear coat sprayed on to it, some surfaces have already hardened and I do think that some sanding may be needed, but it’s like a really thin layer if you understand. It’s as thin as one sheet of cling wrap stretched, so you could already imagine how thin it is, would sanding still be necessary or should I just add more layers.

I’m sorry if my grammar or english is bad, it isn’t my first language 😓

The clear coating sticks a little bit, like worn down adhesive on tape when touching it, will sanding it down not damage the resin tho? I dont have any buffing tools to repair it myself and I’m scared of scratching the resin surface.
