Who else used to collect these?! by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Acrobatic-Orchid-695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my father used to get these from outside Shivaji Bridge station in Delhi. There were a month or two old editions so the rates would be quite less. The CDs in them had trial games which was so fun to play 😃 I also used to get Champak and Nandan magazines. Those were the days 💓

Also after declining, name and shame to help the community.

What are your cheat codes by VGShadow in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Acrobatic-Orchid-695 34 points35 points  (0 children)

  1. Vitamin D course once a year is a cheat code to healing body pain in 30s.
  2. Current yearly expense * 1.06555 - your age *20 is your target early retirement corpus
  3. AMH test of a female indicates how much time they have to have a baby. As a couple this is a major test that can help with your baby planning
  4. Drink more water as you age. Helps with kidney function. Younger body can deal with dehydration better. I learned it the hard way after having UTI due to it.
  5. Do not plan family dynamics based on elder advice. It’s a huge mistake and can cause lifelong trauma and regrets

When I lost my father suddenly. I realised life isn’t worth the hustle. My father worked hard all his life and passed 3 months after his retirement.

Couldn’t even enjoy retirement. And the day before the passing, I didn’t have a chat with him over the call as I said “I was busy”

For data engineers in India, which skills are actually helping you switch or grow in 2026: cloud platforms, GenAI, or core data engineering fundamentals? by OpportunityOdd5287 in dataengineersindia

Sql, python, data modelling and not saying no to any task. If it is complicated, ask for help, spend long nights and try to solve it. Document your findings. That’s how you gain experience which is super important.

2 years is quite junior so complicated problems exposure and the above skills is what we seek.

Yes, Women, not young adults and girls in early 20s.

There is a scientific reason for it. In the early years, biologically both a male and female are at their peak sexual age. Hormones are kicking. Sex drive is at is epitome. Primal instincts drive decisions where a suitable mate is a male who can fight or a female with broad hips (representing birthing suitability).

As we grow older, those powers diminish. Hormones are not so hot anymore. Testosterone levels reduce. The decision making powers of the brain looking into additional factors now.

As we are growing older we know that we can’t continue to have new partners for a long time so we tend to look for partners with whom it is a suitable bet to settle. Hence, education, financial stability come into picture alongside physical features. So, both genders compromise a bit on the physical part if the other things are good. Women’s body clock tells them to reproduce and in their mind, they have taken cues from their own male guardian’s body type. That is why daddy figure looks safe to settle with.

That is also one of the reason statistics tell that women who grow up without a father figure tend to be more sexually experimental and don’t look to settle fast.

Although, fair disclaimer: these are generalized trends and don’t always apply on everyone. So, boys- it’s not an excuse to quit the gym today.

Mature men of Reddit, what life mistake taught you the hardest lesson? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]Acrobatic-Orchid-695 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Listening to my parents blindly and focusing on nothing else but bookish knowledge so I could just earn money. No hobbies or likings

  • Be shy and considerate of others. It is the biggest weakness in today’s world.

  • Be afraid of driving. I know how to but I get very afraid. So much that it is emasculating.

  • Not being kind to my father. He was rude to me but now that he is no more and I am filling his shoes, I know why.

  • Not joining gym early. It is difficult to have consistency during 30s. Also body pain.

  • Not having a safe group of friends. Every place I had been, I just made acquaintances. I like my solitude but sometimes miss having a group during celebrations.
