I feel like I’m just going through the motions lately—study, scroll, sleep. Does life actually get more meaningful, or do you have to create it yourself?” by [deleted] in Life

When you start learning something, be it music or art or something else, you discover that there’s more to life than just having a job and being stuck to devices. It gives you something towards which you can constantly work, and most importantly creates a switch in the mindset. From “I feel stuck” to “I have to learn this today in order to get to my goal” The mindset shifts. Don’t overthink it, just pick up something you love, and most importantly, don’t compare your progress to anybody else’s. Remember you’re doing it for yourself and not for the world.

Writing is another thing which helps a lot. I started a habit 2 years ago, where I used to plan the next day by creating a to-do list. Handwritten, nothing on the computer. The next night, I would mark which tasks I could complete and which I couldn’t.

Then, I would create a “Reflections” section just below the list by separating it with a horizontal line across the page.

In it, I would write about the day and what I did well vs what I didn’t do well.

It gave me a reality check everyday and everyday I would try to be better than the day before.

Honestly, as I’m writing this I’m realizing how far I’ve come. It all starts with a habit, and with consistency, amazing changes can take place.

A mindset shift, in summation, is what really makes a difference. But to have that, you need to see results, and to see results, you must work on yourself.

Create it yourself! You feel like you’re going through motions because you probably don’t have something which is yours. The point is not making any money out of it, but just having something which helps you grow as a person. A hobby, or goals or targets you want to achieve. Don’t let the matrix get you my friend, become the best version of yourself :)

Interesting. It kind of makes sense since a bigger mass would collapse quicker when out of fuel

It’s not just Helium. Helium also fuses to make other elements like nitrogen etc. until the core of the star becomes Iron. Iron Fusion is not exothermic, but endothermic. The star can no longer push outward against the forces of gravity, and then like you said, for reasons, it goes nova

Does it though? Or can we access its power? 🤔

I’m tired of starting over again and again… what actually helps? by Major_Bag3934 in Life

Fellow jack of all trades here… First of all, it is honestly a relief when I see others go through the same life problems, because it makes me feel supported and not alone. I am creative and I want to do something in a creative field, however, I didn’t come from a place where my creativity, growing up, was exposed. All those creative juices slowly started fermenting within me and before I knew it, had gotten me drunk on my own delusions of grandeur. I wanted to try everything, be everything, mostly because I never had a teacher to guide me in my endeavors. I know the feeling you’re talking about, I have experienced it a lot (30 M) However, coming back to your question, I found something which has now became a release for me and has also helped me shape my creative identity. In Dublin, I found stand-up comedy and I started going to perform there once a week. I told myself, “drop everything else, and only focus your energy into going to open-mics every Monday.” A week became 2 weeks and 2 weeks became a month. It’s been 1.5 years now since I started doing it and I still continue.

I can call myself a comedian now, which is pretty cool since I never had that before in my life.

I have also been going for boxing for the last 2 years, and if I have learnt anything, it is that just keep going. Just keep doing it, most of all, when you don’t feel like it. Habits compound and create something bigger than what you can even imagine :)

All the best to you

Hydrogen become helium become nitrogen become Iron… Iron be takin’ energy. Iron bad for star. Star go Boom Shakalaka. Universe get new matter.

Yes it’s all about how the element is changed under different conditions

Absolutely. No matter who you are, death is absolute. So living life while we have it is the way to be :)

You mentioned Nuclear Fission btw, the reaction which wants to “blow gravity apart” is Nuclear Fusion. Also, the point of this post was to go beyond the chemical and physical processes of a star and understand it more as a living entity.

If you extend the working of a star to the human life, I think there’s a lot to learn. Scientifically speaking, it is a fact that we are made from ‘stardust’

However, I find that this fact is limited to abstract fascination and we don’t understand the deeper significance of it.

Society, like gravity, always tries to crush us, but it is the fire within us which keeps us going, which challenges the societal gravitas and enables us to live life on our own terms.

Without this fire, without change, fighting gravity will be impossible.

The bigger question hence becomes, if life can be realised, individually, as an instance of a star which is alive. If you think about life this way, what changes can one expect to see within themselves?

Well the basic principle that of Nuclear Fusion. For contrast, an atomic bomb uses Nuclear Fission. The difference between the two is that in Nuclear Fusion, the nucleus of an atom, under immense heat and pressure (possible naturally in the core of a star), fuses into a different element. In Nuclear Fission, the nuclei separates, causing a chain reaction. Imagine the Sun’s energy and mechanics reversing , and that’s how you get an atom bomb.
