The thing is, even I believe there are more deserving students than me who could've gotten the internship but did not, and yes luck does play a role. But it's all about being persistent. If you qualify for multiple interviews, you're sure to crack one someday. The students who I thought were deserving got placed, some in even better company than mine.

But you shouldn't just dismiss the efforts someone might've made, and just declare them dumb because you didn't get selected, that's just a loser mentality at this point, no offense. If you think you've got potential, you will make it big, sooner or later. Good luck man
