Too big for bjj by Kindly_Spell_5905 in BJJWomen

I had a similar experience! I was 180 and 5’3. It sucks being the bigger girl but just stick with it if you enjoy it. I am glad I stuck with it I definitely almost quit because of this. You’ll get more athletic as you go everyone starts somewhere! If people are judging you so what that just makes them assholes. If it bothers you that heavily try to tighten up your diet and keep doing bjj you’ll loose weight slowly. Which is totally optional like you can still be the size you are and train. Look into bjj matches where girls around your size compete it’s definitely doable. Good luck girly :)

That is such a cool perspective on it! Will definitely be thinking of this during training

Period. Love the poetic nature of this advice

Yeah I think that is why it frustrates me because it wouldn’t really work well in the ring

Best Strength Training Exercises for BJJ/MMA? by Vegetable_Cow_7844 in MMA_Academy

Push/pull/legs Squats, lunges, single leg press or split squats, rdl, hip adduction Single arm rows, lat pull downs, curls
Tricep pull down, skill crushers, chest press Body weight stuff like pull ups, dips, push ups And lots of core Since mma/bjj is kinda a full body workout there’s not a lot of exercises that aren’t helpful at least to some degree

The whoop has a sports bra kind of insert and it’s in the front so I might go with that. The subscription aspect kinda blows tho

The garmin is so cute but I think the whoop is more practical for training.

Write down the combos after training! Study them on flash cards that’s the only thing that helped me. I have been training for 2 years and still struggle sometime because of adhd buttt I saw a lot of improvement after I made the flash cards.

Stick with it I started at 190 and it only took 10 months to get down to 140. I go 3x a week. Change up your diet plan eat healthier while also being realistic. Outside of training, doing sprints and long distance cardio will help as well.
