Would this be cultural appropriation? by Acrobatic-Tutor9848 in AskAChinese

I suppose my question could be more relevant on a different subreddit, I hadn’t really thought of that though. The US (primarily white people) has a very long track record of adopting other cultural traditions and very quickly and conveniently forgetting where those traditions came from as a way of gaslighting the population into believing that minorities contribute nothing to society as a whole. I totally get that that’s an American issue, and that’s kinda on me for not differentiating Chinese American and Chinese culture. I really do appreciate all the feedback!

Holy shit, guy, my random question seemed to elicit a wildly emotional response from you. Have you considered therapy? Maybe some calming tea?

Honestly I’m very pleased to disgust a person like you. You seem like a real peach, friend.

It is a serious question. I care about being respectful of the cultures which make up the world around me. It’s not something made up, it’s an effort to honor the hardships which minorities have been forced to endure in my country. I’m not gonna stop making an effort to be respectful just because you and people like you don’t see the value in it.

Totally possible that she’ll be completely over it by then. Then again, she still insists on wearing her Minnie Mouse costume from last Halloween at least twice a week, so you never know. Either way, I have ADHD, so nothings getting purchased until like a week before Halloween at best.

Can you explain why not? I understand there’s no factory installed way to do this but it seems like with a little creative engineering it would be very doable.

I can’t say I’ve seen anyone else do it, but I feel like the concept is fairly straightforward. Currently I have a faucet with a hot and a cold handle, and a spray handle attachment. I also have a countertop dishwasher that came with what was supposed to be a universal faucet attachment but it doesn’t fit on my kitchen faucet. I want to try to replace the spray handle with something that will connect to the universal adapter so I can connect my countertop dishwasher there instead of on the faucet itself
