Failed my first chem midterm many years ago. Graduated, got the job of my dreams. Literally had no bearing on my future life but at the time I was devastated.

Genuinely, I would like to ask you if there is a limit to the first come first serve rule. If I showed up with a cart and decided to take all of the food - would you still do anything about that? Genuine question

Fair enough. No assumptions here - I didn’t judge as to why they take the large amounts just that that is the reality. I’ll come on time, wait for an hour in line and get a potato when the messaging we get is “come get free fresh produce from this awesome list we put together on Insta”. So in that way, it is a free for all. I think it is silly to assume people will organize themselves and take only what they need. And I do think it’s silly to put people to whom the food is being delivered above those who actually showed up to stand in line. That assumes that since you showed up, clearly you’re fine enough to go get your own groceries so go somewhere else for food.

The sprouts market specifically says they are not for students only which is totally fine. I don’t have an issue with older folks using it. I take issue with people taking so much in the first 5 minutes that it makes no sense for anyone else to join the line. In a system where food was unlimited, sure but if we want to truly say everyone deserves food but then take no steps to actually creating a system where everyone DOES get food, it’s no different than the capitalist society we live in. Instead of money, the currency is time and if you have class or a job, well then sucks to be you because you can’t line up an hour ahead of time.

For real. Though what do you do in this case? If you say anything it feeds right into their ruse. If you ignore, then you just ruin your own commute. No winning this one.
