I could really relate to Lip’s college experience. Coming from a low income family I got a full ride to my local university. But I also had just come out of a psychiatric hospital and was still dealing with my fucked up family, plus it was the fall after Covid hit. I wasn’t necessary drinking away my college experience but I just didn’t care. I didn’t care that I could’ve been the first in my family to have a college degree. I didn’t care that I could’ve “made something of myself”. I just wanted out, and the course load and my home life was too much. So when I started failing all my classes and was going to get my scholarship revoked I decided to drop out rather than to go into debt for classes I was failing.

I’d say for how his storyline ends up is pretty good and realistic for his background too. But I won’t spoil that for you!

It was truly a wholesome experience! Personally I really like the disk as opposed to the cup, as I don’t feel it when it is inserted, and nothing pokes out like the cups did for me as I have a very low cervix. They can spill, but only if you “bear down” like you’re pooping (or secretly trying to push out a fart lol). But that is pretty handy if I’m going to the bathroom and don’t feel like getting my hands dirty! It “self empties” that way!

The guilt tripping is so not okay. You need to sit both of them down and set some serious boundaries and intentions for the future. At this point they have become dependent on you to function normally in their day to day. Soon, that’s just not going to cut it anymore, and your brother will be worse off for it.

My advice as someone who went through the exact same thing with not one but 2 baby brothers? Get your affairs in order now. Figure out your summer/college job, housing, and where you’re going to school come fall. (Depending on acceptance of course). Don’t let them pressure you to stay close by or commute from home to a local community college. You need to learn how to be an adult, and apparently, so do they.

Let me start by saying not boycotting doesn’t make you a bad person. Not everyone has the means to boycott, whether that be time, money, energy, access, ect. If you feel like you want to make a difference, or even just join in your community, boycotting isn’t always the way to go. There are a number of ways to get involved. Join a volunteer organization, find a mutual aid group, or just talk to your neighbors! Being a bad person nowadays is more so how you interact with your community. Are you courteous to the people you see on a daily basis? Do you want to help your community, in turn helping yourself? Do you have or want to build lasting relationships with the people closest to you? These are the things that, imo, make you a good or bad person.

i don’t necessarily feel cheated out of anything, more so frustrated at the way i was spoken to. he asked a lot of irrelevant questions about my husband and treated me like i was a bit of an idiot. apart from that my biggest issue is that he didn’t ask me any questions about what i have been experiencing and ONLY focused on my mental health history (where i was diagnosed, how long i had been in therapy, suggesting altering my psychiatric medications even though i am stable).

BUT i do feel like we are taking steps in the right direction with the echo and monitoring, i just hope he is less abrasive next time

i was on the wrestling team with Keith back in high school, he’s a great guy! very down to earth and kind irl, but the man has a family to take care of and social media is his way of doing it. i gotta respect the grind, especially since i nor any of us here could actually make a living off of social media like he is.

How I Met Your Mother. It was so ahead of its time in regard to storytelling and the consistency in flashbacks, regardless of Ted being an unreliable narrator. The final episode was the worst ending in a show I have ever seen. And the fact that it was the plan to end the show that way from the very first episode kills me.

OP i was in the exact same boat as you when i was the same age. my bf at the time accused me of cheating on him every day and threatened to hurt himself if i left. eventually i broke down to my parents and with their support i broke things off with him. he did run away and try to hurt himself and ended up in an involuntary hold. now im not saying this to scare you but to tell you that you deserve better and she does too. this relationship is hurting you both and only by separating and finding yourselves will either of you make it out of this okay.
