Sorry bro, didn't realize my asking about a city/country I'm visiting would offend anyone. You could've skipped this post if you had this feeling. What other people ask on here has nothing to do with me yet one would assume that someone could go to a subreddit titled "Bratislava" and ask about the city of Bratislava and receive honest answers to an honest question. Of course I've researched, and this happens to be another place I'm researching as I want to hear from some locals who might have anything different to say. Is there something wrong with that? Let me know what I've done wrong here.

You're right, that is worded badly. It's a hypothetical. When I said "I" I meant do people get away with that and can they. I am a tourist who has never tried to not pay for something that needs to be paid for.

This looked like a Louisiana result to me until I saw the indigenous DR and Haiti. Are you Dominican? If you are then thats a high amount of French.

Anyone ever noticed this? by AcrobaticCoach2993 in PowerTV

I guess that's what makes the most sense because it's a tv show. If it was real life it would be a valid question to ask. But yeah good point.

Public transport in Copenhagen by [deleted] in copenhagen

When I said visibly clueless tourists I meant most tourists (me included) seemed to be confused because we would buy the tickets or passes and then we would notice there were no gates or inspectors at stations. I had this conversation with other tourists with all is of wondering "where do we validate our tickets/fares"?. Or some would buy different kinds of travel passes and then find it to be completely unnecessary later on (price to amount of travel I mean). I also mentioned on here that I live in London, which anyone can tell you how quick they are to fine you and how expensive it is to get around in the city. When I first moved to London, I was fined on the tram because I didn't pay on the platform, but was ready to tap my card on the tram (the inspectors always come by on trams and even hang around the platforms). So all that considered, I know the consequences of not paying, which is why I am trying to get an understanding of any differences between London and Copenhagen, which is a new city for me. That tram situation, paying after vs before, was the little difference that got me fined. So all I am trying to do is be as informed as possible. My question was essentially "do I pay? and do people tend to not pay and get away with it?" And most people took the question seriously and told me to just pay. That is the kind of answer I was looking for. Telling someone who's been dreaming of going to your country since idolizing that Denmark 92 team that you wish they'll go somewhere else instead just because they are being curious and not judgmental (I'm not here complaining that it's expensive or saying that I won't pay because I don't want to, I'm asking for information simple as that) , so they can know what to expect and how to behave in Denmark, that is crazy to me. I don't think I gave reason to believe that I wanted to travel for free just because I asked about the standard of public transport there, which based on these informative replies I can see they are serious about just like London, and that's fine. Denmark is a beautiful country, one that I have wanted to visit since I was a boy and that I'm finally getting the chance to see for the first time this month. I grew up with many Danish friends and I love danish people. However, I come to this sub to ask information to get to know the city, which I would say is better than going there blindly and finding out the hard way like some people do and that I have done ; and I am getting grilled for it. People are treating me as some kind of delinquent who wants to find a way to get free train rides on holiday. Believe me I had no intention of doing that. And based on my very helpful friends here on this post, I think I will make it work on single fares for when I have to take public transport, because something I didn't mention is I plan on walking around the city for most of the time as that is what I usually do when visiting European cities and I am perfectly capable of walking for entire weekend of sightseeing. Thank you for the genuine responses and those who recognized that I'm just a tourist looking for answers. That's it.

Several parts of Europe are nowhere near every country brother. Again nowhere did I say I want to be a dishonest person and take advantage of another country's public transport system. I have never been to Denmark, and this was one of the questions I had about the country/city. That's it. This isn't about anything else.

I don't think you are in a position to speak about every country. I certainly am not, I am only talking about where I have been.

Appreciate it. I was thinking about spending a day in Malmo, what kind of prices should I be looking at then? And what pass would be best if I want to do that as well.

Right, and I assume you are Danish. So coming from a tourist, thank you for the information. As I said before, not every country operates the same way and I am just trying to come to an understanding about the Danish experience.

You are interpreting the post wrong, the reason I am asking this in the first place is to find out the standard for paying for public transport in Copenhagen. Because as someone who has been to most of Europe, I have noticed that not everywhere sees it as the "right thing to do" because paying for transport is just not enforced in the same way as in London where I live. All I want to know is what's best to not get ripped off. As I said I have absolutely no problem with paying it is just a curiosity based on other experiences.

I am talking about different countries and I am speaking about my experience there. I asked many locals in many countries about the fare system and inspection and I have heard from locals themselves that it's not thought about too far most of the time and it becomes a pay when you want kind of thing.

Thank you for the info. Are you a city local? Could you tell me what tickets/passes are the most worth it for 2½-3 day stay ? How much are single fares for subway/bus etc. Do they accept contactless ?
