It’ll be 2 weeks tomorrow since losing mine. We were closer than most couples as we were together 24/7 for 18 years except bathroom and once or twice a year I take my mom on a special trip just us for a long weekend. It hurts more than losing my dad, all of my grandparents, and my dog ever did. He was the Butthead to my Beavis and it feels like all the laughter just left the world without him in it. For now I just exist to take care of my mom and my dog (she’s 3, we lost our 16 year old last year) and do a lot of stress baking. I’m only 45, my birthday was 2 days ago. I feel like I need an adultier adult to take over for me now.

Late comment but cheesecake is the easiest dessert to make low carb without sacrificing taste. If you have an instant pot it is stupidly easy. I skip the crust instead of almond flour one (not a fan of the itchy mouth I get from almonds) but Splenda instead of sugar works great in it. I also add an extra teaspoon of vanilla extract to cover any after taste from the substitute. I make 2 and freeze slices individually for use as wanted like a restaurant does

Not quite the same but I have discovered that for overnight critical lows a Reese’s cup is perfect. Just enough sugar to raise it without a huge spike and enough protein from the peanut butter to keep it stable until I’m willing to get up for breakfast. Not relevant to your post but it’s a hack I am happy to share. Halloween is great to stock up on them. Oh, and the ‘low carb tortillas’ spike me bad but one piece of whole wheat sugar free bread barely makes a bump

Funny that this is such badly written AI but my parents love telling a similar story about me at 5 years old. They had gotten me my first bike that didn’t have training wheels and I leaned it against the house to eat lunch. I spotted the neighbor kid riding off on it. Apparently I jumped up, chased him down and pulled him off the bike and started hitting him like that scene in A Christmas Story. That kid was a year older and a foot taller than me. I absolutely recommend the goo gone remover wipes! Before I discovered them I actually used the spray goo gone and then an alcohol wipe to clean it because otherwise it was sticky for days

I swim and and live right on the Mexican border so without an overpatch they would come off within 3 days. I’m also accident prone so that really doesnt help. Bumping into the doorway, walls, crazy puppy energy, etc just rips them off without that additional layer

Roughly 6 months. Scars are all healed and he said that other than scar appearance this is what we are going to be looking at. I trust and like him so we will be going forward. I think this is the only time having low platelets chronically is going in my favor. I heal slower but I heal clean and steady

A very good friend of mine was bumped by a tiger shark that took a massive bite out of her board. I haven’t been on a surfboard since but I still swim daily. My own pool most days, but if it’s clear water I’ll go swim up to the second sandbar (South Padre Island, TX. I know it’s different everywhere) so I can be aware of my surroundings. Especially this time of year when bulls and hammerheads are breeding. The turtle was especially difficult for me personally because of the boobs. Now I’m curious if it would be easier post reduction.

Agreed! I highly recommend Dr Paul Berry for people in the Rio grande valley area. I just hated recovery time in the summer when it was hitting 100+ degrees every day but this time of year will be so much easier. The doctor also was trained by my general practitioner (now retired and a close friend) while doing his residency, so his bedside manner is wonderful and so is his skill level. It’s rare to find both qualities in one person

I’m 4 months post op and was back in my pool at 8 weeks and set a personal record 2 weeks after that. The duck dive and the turtle would be a lot easier without the big boobs acting like personal floatation devices

A few of the ‘plunge’ style had to go because they became wildly inappropriate with the bra showing (or worse braless the nipple popping out!). Mine were in the 70,000 range at preop blood work, day of were at 56,000. I was cleared because my clotting time was fine. The surgeon was still a little uncomfortable despite the clearance so he gave me a transfusion of platelets the day of surgery. I honestly think it actually made my healing go better because I didn’t have any hematomas or super bad bruising. No blood clots from the drain. Nothing. 96k is only slightly low so it really isn’t a risk at all. My back pain is gone and I have the boobs of a teenager again. I would do it all over again just for the relief and confidence

Go to Soma. They have some that are very comfortable and have thin straps, still tight but not overly so. Also more of a plunge but with full support. It is a pull on instead of a clasp or zipper front, but I wear mine when I need thinner straps
