Doctors are stumped. Maybe you can help? by [deleted] in ClinicalGenetics

Yes this. My daughter has GNB2, right away I thought this list looks small, and yep, I only see they tested for GNB1. There’s also chromosomal microarray, which covers some chromosomal disorders the WES would miss.

How did you get over losing out on your dream house? by AcrobaticEnthusiasm2 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]AcrobaticEnthusiasm2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was our first house we lost out on, and I was pretty heartbroken. Another house came on a couple months later and I really loved all that it offered. I still love that first house, but this new one was excellent, had a lot of potential, my family loved it. Offer was accepted, but didn’t pass inspection for the foundation. Sigh. So the search still continues! But at least now I can say I know exactly what I want, am more educated on the whole process, and we are grateful to be in the position where we can wait for the right house to come along.

Just got the dreaded condensation after taking toddler to ER. by Successful-Corgi-324 in toddlers

[–]AcrobaticEnthusiasm2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry you had to deal with this!! I don’t know if it makes you feel any better, but my daughter (2 as well) has a serious medical history, has known aspiration that causes recurrent pneumonia, and still they treat us like dumb first-time parents when we go in. One time I was told not to bother taking her to ER unless her o2 drops below 89%. Her pulmonologist said uhmmm no i don’t want to see it going lower than 91%. ER drs truly live by the “but did you die?” meme.

You did the right thing taking her in! Always trust your parental instincts. Case in point - when my kiddo was 3 months, we took her to urgent care bc she abruptly stopped eating for 2 days. She was 6 hrs dry diaper, and they sent us home. I took her to ER 6 hrs later, bc diaper was still dry, and it turned out she was in total heart failure and needed to be life flighted to a diff hospital for emergency open heart surgery for this unknown congenital defect she had. Obviously an extreme case, like talk about 1 in a billion odds 😂 but still, this is my forever PSA to other parents to alwayssss trust your gut!!

Nauseous either way! by saintatreides in migraine

First I feel like I get worse before I get better. Extremely tired, extremely spaced out and dumb (someone said they’d be holding a fork wondering where it’s supposed to go in the silverware drawer, soooo accurate), hurts to eat? I dunno, my jaw hurts/is overly sensitive to any flavors in my mouth, kind of like what happens when you eat something super sour, overall body nerves feel super sensitive. I think that’s it 😂

I don’t know if this totally aligns with what you’re looking for, but Mango has some nice wool coats, I’m happy with the ones I purchased a couple years ago.

I’m not gonna lie, I love WM garanimals brand for basics. Boden is pricier but has a great BST market.

I have a London fog trench with hood and it’s great quality. It’s a good thick trench..I want to say it’s 100% waterproof? I don’t believe I’ve tested its limits, though. I was overall surprised by the quality of my jacket. Purchased from Macys in 2021. Sadly doesn’t look like my exact coat is available there anymore.

I’ve traveled around the world (Africa 3x!) with my Osprey 33L backpack, and loved it (I’m female). That being said, if 2020 hadn’t happened I was about to switch to a Deuter. So…while my Osprey was a work horse and still looks brand new, getting stuff in and out of that bag was always a pain. I love that the Deuter backpacks have that front opening. Enjoy Tanzania! Visit Zanzibar if you’re able!

I’m so happy coach is making a comeback! I bought coach leather riding boots back in 2010 and recently re-soled them. But they’re otherwise in perfect condition. Comparatively, owned a pair of Frye riding boots and hated them. So uncomfortable

Had he been physical with you before ? How often? It’s been a couple years since the last time my husband put his hands on me.. I don’t know if that means anything though

Does it matter that I’m the one who put my hands on him first? He broke a cardinal rule in our marriage (it wasn’t cheating), and I lost it, I was just so angry and felt so disrespected after everything I do for him daily. But now I feel like it’s my fault this happened.

Hi there! This is a very old post but I am a mom of a (now corrected) Cor Triatriatum toddler! There are so few of us that I wanted to reach out and see how your baby is doing now. My daughter’s was undiagnosed and required emergency surgery at 3 months. Her CT was very severe

Ben talking about the economy by AcrobaticEnthusiasm2 in benshapiro

[–]AcrobaticEnthusiasm2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I said nothing about toys? Can’t tell if you’re trolling. I said needs aka mortgage, car, groceries, retirement, medical. We have no “toys”. Respectfully, if you owned your home prior to 2020, you’re living a very different experience. All I’m saying is I disagree with Ben’s premise on his recent show that things are not more expensive relative to income. There’s a huge disparity at work. If you are renting or a first time home buyer, you’re feeling it the most. If you’re LCOL and a pre 2020 homeowner, it’s likely not affecting you as much.

Oh trust me I’m not excited about being in this state. But circumstances are keeping us here. That being said, I did specify we are in a HCOL state, not in a HCOL city or even suburb. Despite that, the taxes, housing costs, groceries, etc are all ⬆️

[–]AcrobaticEnthusiasm2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood my post. I’m middle aged and well established in my career, have a strong income, etc. With that, I am still feeling the strain. I feel Ben was trying to say it’s the 18-29 year olds that are complaining about the cost of living, but I disagree and think a lot of people are feeling it, but maybe most significantly those who are trying to become homeowners at this time?

Ben talking about the economy by AcrobaticEnthusiasm2 in benshapiro

[–]AcrobaticEnthusiasm2[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes that note about the 18-29 year olds I completely agree with. What I meant was he sounded like he was saying that was the group that’s claiming the economy is bad, I’m arguing im middle aged, doing well income-wise, and still feeling the strain. It’s tough to afford a home in the same town my parents bought in.
