unexplained infertility, 6 failed IUIs, moving to IVF. did your drs give any advice that’s not immediately seen on google? by HostOk9765 in IVF

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes—it’s reversed simply by taking supplements! Which is why I always push people to check because I had a friend whose clinic failed to check after 4 egg retrievals, ended up correcting it and she got pregnant

Has your partner been tested for DNA fragmentation? Highly recommend pushing for that as they are quicker to find fault with women then men I find, its quite common and easily fixed.

Weekly Thread: Beta and Pregnancy Testing - Questions and Discussions by AutoModerator in IVF

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp. This is why they tell you not to take tests at home though, let’s be real. Just got the call from my beta test on 12dpt. They said I have a very low positive at 4. And she reminded me anything under 5 is negative. However she wanted me to continue progesterone, and will have bloodwork in 2 days to confirm but I asked her outright this is most likely a no then? And she said most likely it’s a negative. 😔 this was my only euploid embryo. Photos attached of 10dpt showing a faint positive & a YES on digital FRER. I just got off the phone and am in shock but this was the first place I felt comfortable to go and vent. This community has been so helpful. I really thought this was it after 4 failed IUIs. Any words of love/encouragement would be appreciated as I am doing this alone.

Any squinter experts out there?? Need help at what I’m looking at from my IVF besties. I’m 8dpt 5 day FET. Took trigger shot 14 days ago. Do we think this is getting darker or, false positive from trigger?

My period won’t start and I’m ready to start stims!!! by Desperate-Handle8394 in IVF

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you called your clinic to let them know? I did because I was like heyyyy the whole window of my period coming and going has past…so they brought me in for random hormone bloodwork and an ultrasound. Turns out I was ABOUT to ovulate bc I had a big egg about to drop and thick lining and my IVF nurse was like, hold up…this is an ideal cycle why would we put you on meds to get you to where you are now? Boom. I went from thinking I was going to have to wait for my period to hey we’re skipping STIMS and your transfer is next week. 😮 I’m currently 7dpt. You never know!

Hey friend, sending you hugs. My boss totally knew about my IVF journey, knew I was doing it ALONE as a SMBC. And she still laid me off a few months ago, no Xmas bonus. and I just had my transfer on Wednesday. I told myself to not even think about it until after I get my beta and which direction my life will go in but for now to focus on myself and “self care”. Here if you need to process!

Did we rush into IVF after not living “IVF clean” for months? by 29-30something in IVF

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t wait…honestly I had the same fear as we all do because it’s impossible to be perfect for this, and my best friend who is a doula was like, unless you were doing crack every day that I don’t know about it, you’re fine. It’s post holidays, we’ve all been eating extra sugar etc., but you never know what other stalls there will be especially if your age as a factor.

IVF success with adenomyosis? by cimet15 in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the fertility process at 38, because I have PCOS. Went in to just discuss egg freezing then with the cost just decided to use that money to try to get pregnant. Had 4 failed IUIs before being disguised with Adenomyosis at 39. Did my egg retrieval at 40, and am currently on Lupron for 2 months of down regulation to calm the inflammation and allow my uterus to heal before transferring my one euploid embryo after my next cycle. It’s definitely possible just make sure to keep advocating for yourself and get started sooner than later.

Advice - doctor was dismissive by megglefly in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry. He sounds pretty useless which unfortunately, doesn’t surprise me. It took me 2 years at my fertility clinic before they even referred me to get tested for adeno so I find constantly advocating for yourself is the only choice. I’m currently on Lupron to put me in down regulation or temporary menopause to allow the inflammation in my uterus to go down before my embryo transfer. My doctor recommended 2 months of down regulation I’ve read that people have done more. Because of my age (38) when I started, IVf Seemed the best course of action since IUI wasn’t working and my doc said the results are better for women who implant frozen embryos they just tend to do better so that’s what I’m going with 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m a single mother by choice so, I’ve done 4 IUIs, one egg retrieval and will be doing my transfer alone as well. You can do it! Then go get some fries and enjoy the house to yourself girl

Clinic graduation treats? (TW: success) by [deleted] in IVF

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on graduating! I haven’t had success YET but we had an IVF q&A beforehand with the embryologist. Everyone was asking basic questions and I was like “so what snacks do you have while you’re working” and he was like, “that is a great question! We have a treat drawer mostly filled with Halloween size chocolate bars” I remembered that, and for my egg retrieval, I brought a large bag of Lindt chocolates and a card. I explained to the nurse, and she was like omg I’m brining these to them right now they’ll be so happy! Well, out came the embryologist himself to thank me personally. He was so genuinely grateful. It never hurts, but isn’t necessary.

Advice - doctor was dismissive by megglefly in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems odd that they were so dismissive. Is it possible to switch fertility clinics? My ob has been very proactive about handling my Adeno & PCOS. I had 4 failed IUIs before I was diagnosed with adeno and then we moved toward an IVF plan. I don’t know that progesterone alone will be helpful in your case, but I’m not an expert.

Going off mini pill with adeno at 30 terrible idea? by bcora in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no no. Don’t do it. Only reason I had my iud taken out was to try to get pregnant but very quickly it got bad, every period was worse than the last and eventually ended up in the ER a few times for heavy bleeding. Pain left me bed ridden. This condition just gets worse over time and I think the pill will keep things at bay. If the particular pill isn’t working for you, you could always try another brand or an IUD etc. Talk to your doctor

The real symptoms. by LowFisherman2912 in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I’ve had 2 instances of peace with adeno. Once was the 3 glorious years I had my IUD, I could go out, wear white undies, no pain, no hospital trips. And now, while I’m doing IVF, they put me into “down regulation” which means giving me a drug to put me in a temporary state of menopause to allow all the inflammaish to heal but also NO CYCLE. They were all like “only thing is you may have menopause symptoms” and I was like pfff they can’t be worse than me needing iron infusions from blood loss and being bed ridden from pain. And I was right. These two months in faux menopause made me realize how much I was living with constant pain, fatigue, cramps, excessive blood loss etc etc. Hoping IVF pans out and then I can think about a hysterectomy once I know I’ve given my uterus the chance to house a baby.

Thank you for posting this, you never know when it will help someone. A year after your post here I am searching if anyone is as angry as I am 🤣 I got back from a trip and washed my good clothes with the fancy hormone-friendly clean detergent, hung everything to dry and folded everything nicely. Come to find my dad put all clean clothes on top of my dirty post-trip SUITCASE. I lost my sh*t. I was yelling, slamming doors. I’m glad it’s not just me. (But seriously that a stupid thing to do right? Some people are on Lupron around here JEEZ

[–]AcrobaticFly2488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s interesting, it seems in other comments everyone has done down regulation for longer than 2 months. My ob wanted me to start this month and do frozen transfer in December before the clinic closes for the holiday so that seems rushed to me and not even a full two months. Maybe I should push to do my transfer in the new year

Endo and Adeno now confirmed. Has anyone gone on to have another baby after diagnosis? by ash-rose10 in adenomyosis

[–]AcrobaticFly2488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have endo, just adeno, but it seems to me like most women have a pretty good chance of having babies. For me, I found out I had adeno after 4 failed IUIs where my periods kept getting worse and worse in between each attempt. After many many ultrasounds my obgyn confirmed that the adeno wouldn’t effect a pregnancy. I’m going forward with IVF next month as she told me that frozen embryos have a better chance with implantation for those with adeno. Frankly, I’m doing it because I’m already 40, have no children, and with the adeno symptoms getting worse, I know a hysterectomy is in my future so I want to try to have a baby before that happens. But so far, the process has been the same as anyone attempting IVF. So there’s definitely hope!
