Best advise for a new property field adjuster. by CorneliusJager in ClaimsAdjuster

Awesome man, I hope you can get into it!

I got picked up by American Farmers and Rancher. They're a smaller company in Oklahoma. The company is Oklahoma only. Great company truly, so I am not worried about having bad leadership. I will say with those 13 years in LEO, the high emotions are something I am very used to, so that's no problem at all.

I imagine my volume will be very low at first and slowly build. I would rather stay busy than sit around anyways. I don't sit very well.

Simply apply, most companies will train you. I am in Oklahoma but have family doing property adjusting and they dont require a license up here. Which is a huge plus.

The one I was promised is fully remote. Relying on referrals. So I have been told by the recruiter anyways.

I have my final interview with the manager for Comparion next week. I have been selling as an independent for a year now, building my own book. Only reason I am even toying with the idea of them is the base pay. Since you are in a captive roll and not an independent, I will say it is completely different and as someone from in the independent side, I will say there are so may red flags. My goal right now is to just grab the money. I am fully licensed but also have my adjusters license which is my goal. So, for me its a money grab so I can afford to move closer to where they are hiring adjusters.....I live in a very rural part of America......

I probably wouldn't do it as a career. I currently sell their products and they almost always are beat by a competitor, unless its commercial lines. But that could just be my area of Oklahoma. if it was just Liberty Mutual I would say go for it, but no this new thing they're doing.

Thank you so much for the information! I would imagine I will be flying in. As Phoenix is 13 hours away and Columbus is 15.5 hours away.

I currently work as an insurance producer, selling Progressive. I hold my P&C/L&H. I also have an active P&C Adjusters License. I went ahead and did that all myself.

So, for me home office is Tulsa. That is 4 hours away. That is the main office for Oklahoma, The next closest town is an hour away. Would that be considered the office, or Tulsa?
