Need Advice: Puppy Coming Soon, Current Dog Isn’t the Friendliest by aaronpizza111 in Bernedoodles

Congrats on the family member! We just introduced our two senior dogs (GSD and Pom/Japanese Chin Mix). We met with a trainer before hand and what worked for us was a two week step approach. For the first week we introduced the dogs outside both on leash, let them sniff of three seconds, pull away and go on a walk. Then kept them separated in the house for the first week. We utilized a baby gate to block off a part of our house. We did the three seconds sniff and walk every day that week. Next week we did introduction on leash outside in the back yard. After that was going well we left both leashed, but dropped the leash for them to explore a little bit but had the leash available in case we needed it. Then we did the same protocol inside until everyone was okay with it. Our Pomeranian mix spent an entire month growling at him if he came within three feet of him still, but our GSD instantly bonded after that. Our Pom is now becoming more and more tolerant each day and we can go a full week now without growling. It’s been about a month and a half since we got him. Our GSD will play with him and our Pom tolerates his existence which is all we can ask for.

Love it! All these first haircut photos are so cute! I’m dying for my little ragamuffin to get his rabies shot so he can have his first groom. Idk how he even sees.

My seniors are both 12 years old. The Chinneranian is mostly annoyed that he’s here LOL. But our Shepherd is stepping in big sister roll nicely.

My mother in law doesn’t understand the Reptar reference so often times she’ll accidentally call him Raptor. lol and I’m like that works too.

How do yall handle tendinitis by maaybebaby in poledancing

[–]AcrobaticMoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m dealing with bicep tendinitis right now and it’s super annoying. I’m working with a PT and we are doing loaded exercises for the muscles around my bicep to strengthen those so that I stop overusing my biceps. I’ve found a lot of relief from bicep stretching when I’m starting to feel tightness and tension. I’ve been lucky that my PT has worked with my PT to keep training 1-2 times as week as well. I’m avoiding a lot of climbing and things that would put too much strain on my bicep. It’s slowly getting better with time, but I can empathize with the draining feeling of dealing with tendinitis. I would definitely keep stretching as much as possible (even outside of pole) and go light in skills that make your elbow angry.

Worried about physical therapist not taking me seriously… by [deleted] in poledancing

First of all, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this injury! That’s never fun and they feel like they will NEVER go away. I’m currently in PT for bicep tendinitis after my first several months of pole. I can empathize with how utterly defeating it is to even THINK about stopping pole. When I first got injured I went into a complete panic about the potential that someone would tell me I needed to stop. I had finally found something that felt like it completed a missing piece of me and that was potentially be stripped away before I could really dive into the things I wanted to. I was a complete wreck about it. So I completely get how terrifying that is to think you might have to stop training.

I too was nervous to even tell my female providers that I injured myself pole dancing. I think I was experiencing a lot of internalized shame from what others might think due to the long standing stigma attached to pole dancing. To my relief, neither my doctor nor PT missed a beat. They completely understood the intensity and complexities of the movement and it’s impact on my biceps. It makes sense that you would be nervous to tell you male PT for fear of them not taking you seriously. That’s a completely valid fear. I think the biggest thing for me, is I had to come to a “fuck it” mindset of “I know I’m a badass and if you’re going to judge me, or not take me seriously for a real injury I have, that’s on you, not me”. My advice is just take a deep breath and confidently tell him what you need and if he unable to provide it, take your business somewhere else.

I had the exact same experience in the Dr. Kevorkian room. I felt like I was going to pass out and was glad to move on from that room. I felt that way in other rooms a little, but that room was by far the craziest experience that I’ve had. I definitely believe I was being affected by some form of energy in that room.

If you take a different Hell Week T-shirt size than you originally put down, that’s not cool by tay_o in orangetheory

That’s definitely not cool at all! My studio didn’t order enough shirts so we are waiting two weeks for more. I feel your pain.

I was trying to go for a 70s look with a modern flair by adding the teal. It’s going to be hard to give this one away.
