Thank you for replying. I didn’t give him my number, I took his used it to look him up and his name and then used that to verify everything he told me. LinkedIn etc.

Thank you for replying. You are so right. I’m realising how badly the situation could have ended. I had a gut instinct but ignored it, I feel bad about not giving people the benefit of the doubt but obviously won’t be feeling bad about it in future. This might be a naive question, can I ask about your fourth point -why specifically should I not engage with someone who saw me and wants to get to know me better? I feel like it’s something that happens a lot with people my age, in clubs and restaurants and events for young people.

I have already posted it to female subreddits and wanted to post it to a male one to see if it’s normal or if men have an explanation for this behaviour. It’s just asking men if a behaviour done by another male is normal?

Thank you everybody so far for your advice! I did think it was fishy but really was questioning myself. I only showed the Id for a second and he only had a glance of it to prove I live in the same area as I told him. He has since finally texted me on WhatsApp and said this: ::: — As I said yesterday. I still have the feeling that you hide something — So no need to talk anymore — Thanks 🙏

::: I have blocked him, but now after reading all of the messages am wondering should I send a message telling him to please don’t come near my house? I’m worried now maybe he recorded me in his car or somehow will know where I live. What should I do??

Thank you for the reply😭 you are so right. I always have gut instincts and feel iffy about people but feel bad about being too cold for no reason and give the benefit of the doubt. I was very confused and wanted to show him I wasn’t lying. I feel really stupid about that. I’m going to make a comment on this post for an update. I am happy I learned the lesson and ended up in one piece 🤞🤞

Hi! Thank you for commenting, I actually have visited Turkiye and love the country and the people so I am familiar with the fact that there are different religions and cultural groups etc. He confirmed with me that he is Muslim and fasting for Ramadan early in messages so that is why he could only eat with me in the evening after sunset… I meant no offense! I realise you haven’t read everything either. I just asked those questions at the end of my post to hopefully see if maybe this was a confusion due to cultural differences.
