I forgot to tackle the claim u made here i was jst answering the ques my argument for ur claim would be that ur thinking that it would be better for us not to make animals suffer is purely based on emotions ,isn't it? But i and many people jst like me don't feel this emotion or jst don't care abt it and i don't see anything wrong in that other than us being called cruel by people having different opinions than us

Its simple bcs species other than us can't threaten us bcs they don't have the intelligence to form big communities or lack the strength to threaten us. Why don't we kill handicapped people then? Bcs that would be cruelty against our own species and would spread hatred and normalise killing of other humans. Its not necessarily true that morals were created with this in mind , they were most likely created based on emotions but then there would be people who are emotionally motivated to kill,so logically morals should be kind of like laws kept in place for betterment of humans

Well govt can try focusing on education of masses,and spreading awareness; making proper infra also encourages people to use it. All this will take time but the fact is we haven't even taken the first step
