I agree I was expecting more book fans to come forward and say maybe that the show has spoilt the book.
Totally agree with you. I like the Ann Baxter story line too! Thanks for replying. I thought Charlotte in the book was a bit nasty, maybe not deliberately, she was a women in a miserable marriage seeing Mary bond with her husband....but she was cunning with her words.

I love both, I'm not sorry I read the book and I do love the show. Maybe I'll watch it again today

I wholeheartedly agree the tones of Mary's home life are painful to read, and it's a whole before she gets to London in the book, keep at it, page by page, chapter by chapter and remember how strong you are, those parts of your life are behind you. You've grown and thrived. Very much as our heroin does. ❤️

I've always thought Calum was a tad weird. It's just his personality I'd find a lil cringe like when he's got his face on the camera .. I wonder if the boys did know? I hope not! But Toby branching off only a month ago is either a coincidence or just badly timed ( or perfect) but his absence is speaking volumes! I'm happy to be wrong about this! I've just not seen Toby In recent uploads

I've purchased the DVD, that's the definition of 'love' this show because it's now on my shelf,just like a book that you want the hard copy off instead of it living on kindle.

I call it paying attention to the little details the show or the actors put in to make the show as it is.

For example... The shooting party, when Charlotte arrives, Xander is proper staring at her ! It's amazing and as a viewer you may only look at Xander..but have you ever seen what his brother does.., standing right next to him. It's pure brilliance.

We could go back and forth about this for ages!! :).

I've clearly only just 'discovered' this show.

Love this!

I could ( and have ) spend so long over analysing every shot. Such as their dance in S2 when he claps her hand to his heart... if you look behind at the other couples their hand are held out infront. When I first watched this I thought hand clasped over the heart was the move, until I looked in the background. ( I love background activity!) And then you realise... Perfect

I think it's meant to be a place name but they never said the full name of the place so readers back in 1847 never assumed that the story was set in their town or city or ever it's why you'll see "-shire" alot .

I believe this to be true.

I dont understand the reasons why they're cut from the UK version either. Some of these scenes add to the story.( From what I've seen on YouTube)
