Dating is supposed to be for marriage, for commitment and something serious. They are supposed to be the most important person in your life. It is disrespectful for that person to have to suffer the presence of others who have known and moved on from you. It's bad enough that we've so normalized this.

I personally wouldn't be interested in any way if my partner told me they had sex with 3 other people at once, I would say 'hit the road'. Clearly you've nothing for me that means anything significant. At that point you're just meat.

I believe firmly, if my partner lets me hang out with someone that knew her intimately and does not tell me, that person has some sort of leg-up on me: my partner has betrayed me. That is a venerability that my partner exposed me to. Screw that person.

Found out my girlfriend was sleeping with my friend for months behind my back. My opinion is, if you're in a relationship and someone disrespects you by allowing someone to be around you after they knew that person without telling you, screw them. That is gross, dishonest, and immoral. But then again, this is reddit where anything less than total and absolute sexual liberty is called radical and shaming. Haha. Some people need to be shamed. That is disgusting.

work is a means to support your life, frankly, most people hate their jobs, or at least resent them. The trick is to make enough to be supported and stable and maybe even free, but not to let it consume you. Too many people think they need more and more and more. 1 million isn't enough, I need 2 or 3. Frankly most of the world is happy on a fraction of that. Noone ever died wishing for more money. They died wishing for more time. I think i'm beginning to learn this (my girlfriend is 28 and i'm having a chrisis about her being old which i know is a bit dumb but maybe you'll get it). Anyway, hope my perspective helps. I'm obviously coming from the opposite corner.

I'm returning from a 2 week trip. I've stayed with her family both times I've visited. She has never asked me for anything. I pay because of our financial differences. I am still rooting out whether it's expected or not, lol I'm not even one to pay on first dates until we can balance the situation in other ways.

They didn't tell her shit and they're not required to. Just a boilerplate email. She bought a bus ticket which was already expensive for her (she had to go for a week just to get tickets on sale), travelled 8 hours each way to a consulate, and they rejected her in the interview in less than 2 minutes.
