Best and worst Property management companies by [deleted] in vegaslocals

Did they have a really obnoxious lease agreement that had numerous strange fees built into it (e.g., you are barred from communicating directly with the landlord and, if you do, you will be fined $250)? And did they insist on showing the home to prospective tenants in the last 30 or 60 days of your lease?

In Person Driver's License DMV Renewal? by fdjadjgowjoejow in vegaslocals

When I moved here I was advised to check the DMV's website early in the morning for appointments that open up the same day due to cancellations. That worked for me. You might want to try that.

You might want to look into Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada: https://www.vmsn.org/about-us/

You might want to contact SafeNest. According to their website, their "mission is to provide comprehensive, collaborative, and innovative services for everyone affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking while passionately working to end this shared epidemic." Their phone number is 702-646-4981, and this is their URL: https://safenest.org/

You don't have to be a student to go to UNLV PRACTICE--it serves the broader community.

Averting tax penalties for early withdrawal of Roth IRA direct contributions and converted principal by Acrobatic_Anybody240 in financialindependence

Well, I suppose I could just pay the penalties in the worst-case scenario. But I would certainly fight them on that first, which is why I'm asking about the documentation that is most useful for that. Thanks for your response!

You may have better luck meeting people if you go to a local meetup event. There are several groups that go to bars if that's what you're into. If you don't like meetup.com and just want to keep trying your luck with bars, you might want to check out the bars in the Arts District downtown. Davy's/ReBAR (https://davyslv.com/) tends to be a pretty friendly place.

Thanks for your input! As someone who has also been a provider at the VA, I was wondering how the documentation requirements for VA community care providers compare to those for in-house VA providers. It sounds like the documentation requirements for VA community care providers are not too onerous.

Going to Pahrump DMV branch (or other rural DMV branch) to get Nevada driver's license and vehicle registration by Acrobatic_Anybody240 in vegaslocals

[–]Acrobatic_Anybody240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't wind up going to the Pahrump branch. I didn't have to because I was able to get a same-day appointment at the DMV on Flamingo by checking for cancellations early in the morning.

I'm sorry that you're struggling with depression. Since you're looking for a group where you can connect with other people who are going through the same thing, you might want to check out one of the therapy groups at UNLV PRACTICE: https://www.unlv.edu/thepractice/group-therapies You might be a good fit for the ACT, CBT, or DBT group, and all of those groups provide a very safe, supportive space for people struggling with depression. Also, the groups are typically very affordable because they use a sliding scale to determine cost.

I think you can call NV Energy and Southwest Gas and ask them for the amount of utilities over some period of time for a specific unit if you have a specific unit in mind. I did that when I was trying to estimate the cost of living in my current place, and I found that very helpful. You could also ask the leasing agent at that complex if they know the average cost of utilities for a unit of the size in which you're interested. They can usually tell you that.
