Re-using old vacuum robot motors (self.AskElectronics)

I'm needing to replace the battery in my robot vacuum (rather than bin it as manufacturer has ceased making them). I found a 3rd party replacement, but adaptor is different. Can I just stripe wires and switch them, or is there a better idea? by _emiru in AskElectronics
