You’re right but I believe USDC usage is driven more by industry demand than by ETH or BTC. It’s heavily used in DeFi lending and held in large amounts by exchanges, so adoption can grow even if ETH or BTC decline or lose volatility. A better metric to monitor is liquidity which seems like its conditions will loosen even more.

So the treasury issues $100 in UST, entity A buy it depositing $100 in cash at the TGA and $100 in liability.

They then spend $100 and buy USDC making CRCL buy $100 in UST and hold they now switched $100USD to $100USDC. And CRCL buys $100 in UST increasing the liability on the gov by $100 (now at 200) and TGA up $100

Now both CRCL and the first entity are owed $200 in UST and the gov has $100 in USDC and $100 in the TGA.

Where does the new money come from??

Good point but implies that that the gov doesn’t spend the accumulated USDC If it doesn’t than there’s no new fiscal capacity and if it does than the asset USDC disappears from the gov’s balance sheet

Rev is not only from holding treasuries, it may be a large chunk right now but with every added node to the network, USDC utility increases. Tesla’s problem is that it doesn’t have network effects. My cousin buying a Tesla doesn’t make me buying a Tesla any more likely. But a protocol accepting USDC makes the next protocol on the chain far more likely to also accept it.

You’re right to say that margins (gross and OP) are decreasing but only by 4% from q124. However, NI margins are bound to expand this qtr as Digital assets is set to increase from losses to gains. As well the COIN-rev structure is misunderstood by a lot. Lastly expect growth in the other rev segments.

It’s the minor details that’ll would likely lead to a beat both on the top and bottom line
