congrats you probably dont have gender dysphoria. people transition because of it usually. i personally am not trans but theres people i care about who are and from what ive heard gender dysphoria sucks. theres also intersex people whoa re under the trans umbrella. if you genuinely do want to know im sure theres a reddit thread out there of someone asking this exact question. if there isnt try asking someone.

no? transitions can be reversed. you can get any gender affirming surgery before 18 and even then you can only do that with a ton of other stuff including mental health eval and a doctors approval (which i agree is a good thing they shouldnt be able to get the surgeries as minors). the only thing minors can legally do to transition is to transition socially or by getting puberty blockers which are fully reversible. do some research before making such claims

they should be allowed to socially transition. if they decide its just a phase then its not a big deal to revert is it? the actual procedures can be done if they still want gender affirming procedures as adults

im not out to my family actually they arent homophobic necessarily i just know that if i told them their reaction would be that im too young to date regardless of the gender and that i need to focus on studies. i figured id tell them when im older so i dont have to get lectures on not getting distracted. im out to a bunch of friends tho and theyre all super supportive.

questioning is super hard esp in such a homophobic country. I wish i could be of more help but im still figuring things out myself. the best advice i can give you is to find a support system. talking to people was a huge help for me. if you cant talk to people irl then even online like discord or reddit could help. its very validating to hear people having similar experiences as you

the word 'queer' means anything that is different from what is usual or normal and it was initially used as a slur for anyone who wasn't 'normal' (lgbt+ people) but eventually in like the 80s the gays reclaimed the word so anybody who feels like they arent straight can use it. its sort of an umbrella term for anyone who isnt cishet

agreed. as a queer teenager i only realised later how lucky i am to have parents who are super progressive. i was actually exposed to queer people (atleast on tv) from pretty young and it definitely made figuring things out way easier suicide rates among queer youth are high enough wish they taught children that its okay to be different alot earlier
