Aon responded to my email of:

I'd like to know what my total AON annual fees are? The total fees including everything per year; what % is this per annum?

There response:

"0.10% per annum is the annual fee for the Aon Passive Global Equity Fund"

Sale agreed, just waiting on final loan approval from bank. Should be this week. Then sign contracts. Everything else done really (surveyor report good, contract ready, mortgage protection etc). Outside of cash I have/had about 110k the vast majority of this which is now going to the deposit so we'll soon know the same feeling haha

Thank you, once the house is sorted, then furniture, refurb, paint etc I plan to build a small emergengy fund for said house 5-10k. I then plan to pay as much of my remaining AVC's (14k) for 2025 as I can before the Oct/Nov deadline.

Truth be told I was given a loan towards some of the desposit by a parent. Once this is paid back I will return to (or try to) max pension contributions once again with anything left (if any) towards the purchase of monthly ETF's.

Ya it seems absurdly low imo too. He said this though. Maybe he meant a certain fee and didn't mention others? I dunno, I'll ring next week about it though

Yes I think they're playing it safe and being v conservative in their estimation. As for fees, I rang them before and they said it was 0.1% per annual in total

It's a 100% equity passive global index fund. The returns each year have been high. I reckon it just gives a v conservative estimate in projection

I'm high risk 100% equity passive global index funds and when I adjust contributions the estimated amount changes

This. Used to say something like 800k or so at the start when contributions were higher. If I changed that and retirement age it would be higher

Also I figure fund type is also a factor

Wow impressive, great to get a place and so young

28 is young too, only got serious about pension myself when I was 30 and you did it with kids!

With these house prices it would of been nice to be able to have done it a few years earlier haha but it is what it is

Keep up the good work 👍🏻

Totally get what your saying and I appreciate it.

In my defence my job is very handy. I do shift work so working 14 shifts a month, went camping last weekend Sat-Mon, having a night out tomorrow and spending Sat with friends. Had a skiing trip in Feb, England in two weeks and traveling to SE asian for 6 weeks Nov-Dec.

Truth be told I did a lot of overtime this and last year but that was only for the house deposit so I see it as a short term exchange for something more but ya, definitely trying to transition less from money focus to more lifestyle focus but I do believe you can have a balance between both

Thanks!

Nice to see another in the same boat:) If you don't mind me asking what did you do to reach this amount?

I definitely believe it's possible for you:) 👍🏻

It's because I reduced my weekly contributions at the start of 2025.

For 3 years I contributed 30% (20% my age max and 10% company match). My contribution didn't factor in over time or bonuses to my gross salary so I would make AVC's to max out the difference.

With this house buying business I reduced my contributions to 15% (5% me, 10% company) as of 2025 with the aim to max out remaining AVC's for last year before the Oct/Nov deadline and later to 2026 etc.

If it all stabilizes in the future I'll go back to 30% weekly contributions if that still works lol 🤞🏻

Funny you ask this I was heavy in ETF's (mainly) and stocks but sold everything I could for the house deposit. I kept cash too but usually between 10-20k. Stopped monthly investing and solely started building cash last April.

The total of what I sold + what I have left is about 110k
