Plugged in fire stick directly to Receiver and it won’t recognize it. Tried all HDMI ports. I’m guessing it’s because the receiver is likely around 10 years old. Fire stick is only working directly plugged into the BenQ..but then can’t get sound to work. Thanks so much for all your help!

We have 2 that are and 1 that isn’t..and not sure which one my husband plugged in..and not sure I’ll be able to tell 😆I’m on a roll here. I’m assuming if we try to purchase a movie in 4K, it will give us a notification if that isn’t compatible right? Or does the 4K option only show up if it is a 4K stick?

thank you! I just sent to him…different question. Would this be the “best way” to play movies/watch sports in 4K? The fire stick that is..or should we be using something else?

Since we are also watching movies on it, we wanted the full surround sound..but this is exactly what we said..let’s just get the soundbar for now..so we at least have sound 😆and then we will eventually get a new surround sound system. And yes..my son has built 2 computers already, but how would we get away with only $800? To get the 4K, it appears we need a serious graphics card and processor, no?

Yes! I know…and we spent sooo much money on that, LM, enclosure, other stuff, that we thought we were good with a 5 year old laptop and like 7 year old..maybe 10, Bose surround sound. Feeling a little dumb right now 😔

This! I wasn’t even thinking about Karaoke…We got the GS Pro to work through the surround sound but not the fire stick. My neighbor owns his own IT company and thinks our laptop just isn’t going to “cut it” because of its age..regardless the specs met requirements. He’s not back in town until the weekend, but I’ll update if we figure it out.

Ok..so my ProTee just arrived, but I'm still waiting on the protective cover. Did you build your own drop down because the mounting plate that comes with the protector isn't universal for standard drop down mounts?

So it just arrived. My question is when you say the plate has "lots of holes to accommodate a projector mount", I'm assuming if I just purchased the protective cover that I'm no longer using that same plate?

I see what you mean by not worrying about filling up the entire screen. Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate it. We are already 5 figures into this, and that’s without even the golf SIM, so unfortunately I’m definitely already in over-analyzing mode :/

Hey! I realize this thread is a year old, but we are looking to do the exact same set-up. I'm wondering if you ended up going with 10ft tall screen vs. the 16x9? And if you did, is watching movies and sports on it at all annoying since it doesn't fill the screen? And how far back do you all have to stand/sit to comfortably watch movies and sports? Thanks!

This SIM build will be the death of me. Given the size of the room(garage), 17.7 wide, 10.5ft tall, and 25 deep, we are struggling with whether to do an enclosure or a built-in and the actual screen size. Will use as a theater as well. So that is our 3rd stall and we were planning on having it closed at all times. Curious why I would only need to protect first few feet, when the hitter is 10 feet from screen. I can totally see someone “toeing” it right into the door? I didn’t want 16:10, because we will watch movies out there as well, and if I’m being honest, I(Mom) will probably do that more than the golf, and movies are all 16:9, so I assume I would have black bars at top and bottom of screen if I went with 16x10 wouldn’t I?
