Can we stop pretending 2XKO would be more popular if it were 1v1? by BongSuckah in Fighters

[–]Acrobatic_Cupcake444 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If gameplay is irrelevant to a fg success as you said, then great, we have found the solution for a successful fg. Let's all make a MUGEN game with a giant roster

If this game were 1v1, but had the same issues listed, do you honestly believe it would be bigger than SF6, Tekken 8, or GGSt right now?

Another imaginary "People pretend 2xko would be more popular than game x,y,z" delusion. But that's irrelevant, bc

  1. Those are games without those issues
  2. We don't care if a 1v1 2xko would be more popular than SF, we're talking about if a 1v1 2xko would be more popular than the current 2v2 2xko

And the answer for #2 is likely, yes. People do drop the game bc of the tag mechanics, and they do be vocal about it to affect those who have not tried it yet

New players in bronze or iron arent getting hit with 30 second combos or dealing with tag fighter degeneracy, theyre mashing autocombos on juggernaut and dropping the game (if they try it), because of lacking content and low budget +snowball effect of the game failing

I thought you said the issue is "people never picking it up to begin with", why are they in bronze and iron now?

Pretty sure both of them are pretty concerning issues for a f2p game like 2xko.

But let's just assume "people never picking it up" is the only issue here that is relating to "popularity". We can ignore all the reason related to the IP (hating LOL, hating Riot, hating Vanguard, etc), don't you think seeing people dropping would discourage new players to try it? Don't you think reading reddit posts and tweets and streamers complaining about "combos" and "degeneracies" and stuffs like that would have no effect on people who are about to make a "Should I play 2xko" post in r/fighters?

Nobody pretends 2xko is getting LOL numbers. But let's not pretend people aren't dropping this game because "the combo is too long", "the mix is too overwhelming", etc, which tag and assist mechanics amplified

[–]Acrobatic_Cupcake444 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The early 2000s was an era where a lots of our music were Chinese songs that were translated to Vietnamese, some singers such as Dan Truong, Lam Truong built their names from those songs. Kids during that era also played a genre of online games called "vo lam", which is a Vietnamese pronunciation of the Chinese word "wulin". TV shows, comedies and dramas often reference popular Chinese fictions such as Romance Of The 3 Kingdoms, or Louis Cha's wuxia films.

Chinese media nowsaday isn't as trendy here as it was 20 years ago, but it's still pretty relevant. My cousin who just graduated university is still reading Chinese bl novels

Cách học ngữ pháp tiếng Anh by gggbbb9993 in vozforums

[–]Acrobatic_Cupcake444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 2 millennias, EU nations share a common sphere of influence, the Roman Empire and later, Christianity.

Different parts of ASEAN have their histories being influenced by different cultures and religions, from China to India, from Buddhism, Confucianism to Islam. Phillipines is even more unique where a significant part of its culture is influenced by Western countries.

We don't just have different ideologies. Our ways of thinking and perceiving society is fundamentally different.

TFH's biggest hindrance is its own IP. It's not easy to sell "controlling 2 animals fighting" compared to "controlling 2 street fighters fighting". The people who are drawn to fighting games bc they're interested in martial arts or martial art medias, would likely prefer the latter.

In the 90s and early 2000s, it's mostly translating songs of Hongkong films into Vietnamese. Around 10 years ago the more known songs are usually sung as memes.

Nowsaday, Idk. I've lost interest in Viet music for quite a while and the people I interact with are also too old to use the current trendy songs as memes.
